I have a similar problem. I got the SDK some time ago, and it included a Blue Mars Client.

Avatar Reality have now released a new SDK and Viewer. I emailed them asking for new links for the new releases and also Client login info, as I never got this.

I got a reply today, but it did not include links to the new releases, but it did include a link for getting into BM. I clicked the enclosed link which brought me to a Blue Mars Beta Test agreement (similar to the NDA). I then got a second activation email, which brought me to another screen where I could create an account. I gave a password, created an Avatar (first and last names) and selected Male.

So far, so good.

I then launched the Blue Mars Client, but immediately got an error (something about a transparency being missing), and then another page popped up that said I had version 2717 and that I needed version 3322, Download Now?

I clicked the Download Now link, and was faced by a Login Screen, which asked for my email address and password. I was puzzled by this, so I entered my email address (that the links had been sent to) and entered the password that I made when creating my Client account. Rejected. I then tried the password that was sent to download the SDK (which incluuded the client), Rejected.

I give in. Unless anyone has any suggestions.

for those who made player accounts that are tied to the dev account, go to https://www.bluemarsdev.com/MyPage/ and log in. there is a download link.

for just the player account, I'd assume there would be something similar. no clue what it might be.

I had to search the forums for it because after creating the account, it gave you some links and once you clicked on 1, you couldn't get the others. And annoyingly enough, it wouldn't let you open it as another tab.

it'd be a lot better if they sent an email after registration. But so far, I haven't had that bad of a time. Luckily I'm a chick so the not being able to make a male avie isn't that annoying.

I got in late yesterday, I'm guessing a lot of other people did too? They didn't send me an NDA either, so I'd guess it's getting close to launch - did other people get let in without an NDA?

Without saying too much (incase it's just me and they forgot my NDA), I am about in the same boat as Siyu - either I need to upgrade my video card or find how to crank up the visuals... I was grossly underwhelmed(even for a beta). :/

I think it's the button between "chat history" and "minimap". oh, wait, nvm.

Not that I know of. This is something the program needs -- I'm shocked that graphics preferences weren't included. I know it's a beta, but my idea of beta software doesn't include things missing essential features.

Oh, and hey, how 'bout that avatar generation? Awful, no?

Damn that NDA. If it weren't for it, I'd describe in detail every problem I had with the av generation system.

I think they have abandoned a direct NDA now, as all its terms are in the initial click-throughs when installing the Viewer.

I wasn't asked to sign an NDA but there was a very explicit confidentiality agreement you have to acknowledge beforehand, so I would still suggest everyone be careful.

I got back an activation link filled that out with a av name password an gender then nothing happened. Then I got another response to my developer inquiry we would love to have you as a developer please go fill out this application, which I did before sending the email do I do it again?

Well, I just learned of this on the SL forums, where the thread about it was 1000 posts long.

I did notice, though, when I went to the web site, that it requires Windows Vista. So that's that for that, as I have XP. In fact, I waited to get my new computer until Dell decided they'd let us go ahead and get XP instead of Vista.

Hmmm. Well, on their application thing, they have a drop down box for the system, but the only thing it drops down to is Vista - in other words, it doesn't drop down at all.

It does work fine on XP, though.

Blue Mars definitely runs on both XP and Vista. I have XP and have had no problem at all.
