Ok there's been enough speculation and frankly, jealous sniping that I feel it necessary to lay out some facts.

Yes I have left OpenLife very disgruntled and out a good bit of money.

Most of you know me and my penchant for laying shit on the line. Well, I did. I failed to heed several warnings about OpenLife and it's operator, an avatar named Sakai Openlife. I shan't play with the real name naming here but it's easy enough to find if you're so inclined.
Long story short, Lecktor was banned from OpenLife and their forums without any warning or notification whatsoever.

What that has boiled down to is, I am in basically the same boat Simone was in another world. Granted, the shit I make ain't no where near the quality of hers but, I can't retrieve it. A friend was in OpenLife today and verified that my ip items were indeed spread out on the grid in various forms of freebie actions. That was my intent, however it is not now that I can no longer access the grid and possibly control who and where it is available. My builds were also wiped clean and no chance to back them up for use anywhere else.

More to follow on that in the near future.

That being said, yes there is a project being developed by a group of disgruntled ex Openlifers to see if it can be done better. I am happy to announce that yes it can. Things that were told to us undoable have been done. Digging into source code is very enlightening as to the claims and stories told by others. Suffice it to say, we are not launching this world publicly until we have something better to offer.

This project is called InWorldz. It will be very similar to SL yet not. We make no claims to topple SL or be better than them. All we want to do is make a good alternative for folks that are so inclined. Different approaches will be taken in various areas but, this world is based on OpenSimulator and we make no bones about admitting that.

Any posts or threads you see here or elsewhere by accounts named inworldz whatever, are NOT involved in this project. Team members will be announced soon but we will not hide behind a moniker.

Agreed, this is SOP for Linden Lab. They always say they're making it better.

But the cards haven't fallen over, yet. That's sort of good, and sort of bad.

C'mon LF don't knock us down before we're even at the party.
We have some wonderful and respected folks working hard on this and we're not promising or claiming better than LL beyond our commitment to CS. We are taking our time and making sure we have major bad stuff covered before going live.

Cris did give me the other alt account that started this crap a week or so ago, it is simply Inworldz. Probably won't use it at all, just having it for principle's sake. Transparency is key in building trust, and our team believes in it.
