Just another reason not to sign up for openlife.

last night I was in openlife chat. 3 men Gitfinger, Surreal and Macaphisto were brutally abusing a female member in the chat room. Many people spoke out against this cruel treatment but the moderator did nothing. It finally calmed down and order was restored.

Today I was in openlife chat again. The accosted female member came in chat and was promptly banned. Gitfinger was also in the room and wasnt banned. When another member asked why she was banned (only one person was banned) Sakai said the bans? we're giving some ppl who seem to headbut a little haitus from the chatroom (it's not a grid wide ban or anything) just try to keep some happy medium in this chat I'm not a fan of removing world access either unless in world you're causing grief but if we need to put little walls between users who like to headbut eachother then i guess we must do that

another female member then asked: if people are being banned for butting heads why isnt Gitfinger banned? He was tossing out insults left and right

Sakai's reply we'll seperate ppl it''s a chat room if we need to seperate ppl that don't get along then we'll do that dealing with issues like this s really not good it takes time out of the schedule for dealing with items that are valuable to users in world ( I guess protecting people from being picked on isnt valuable to users)

After awhile another offender came in the chat room Surreal, he was not banned.

When the female member asked why Surreal wasnt banned from the room, Sakai banned her too

I cancelled my mebership to OpenLife Grid. Any grid owner who discrimiates so openly has no regard for the members at all.

They dont want no Inworldz members or ALTs of Suspiria in Openlife anyway. Suspiria caused loads of trouble between her and her alts for months and caused dozens of good people to leave. Openlife moderators did a good thing. The people that allegedly "attacked" her were pixels, just like her. This was not about male and female, She was merciless with innuendos and attacks for months and they had finally had enough.

I find it funny that an Alt has to come in complaining that they copped a ban hammer for racist comments from the day before. Then playing the victim over that hammer finally falling the next day(while they where in Chat).

I have nothing to do with this so I'm just going to be snarky and mock it.

But for a bit of seriousness: If those of you behind the alts, and behind the Open Life Grid outrage really think that this helps OLG and discredits anyone else, well, you're missing your objective. No one is going to take a service seriously when its members apparently go out to harass competing ones, going so far as to create accounts with names in an attempt to connect their made up crap to competitors. It's just exceptionally bad form all on its own.

Something should stand on its own legs, not because the member base is willing to bully and harass those who criticize and those who compete.

Final two points, given that you're harassing a business interest, you ought to be very careful in what you choose to do, because the line towards legal issues is a thin one, and proxies won't help you as much as you think.

Secondly, you aren't making Sakai look good with what you're doing. And if this behavior is done at his behest, you really ought to watch your tracks carefully, because it's not particularly difficult to demonstrate, and if caught your campaign to discourage other services in favor of yours will backfire tremendously.

In summation, you ought to use your time developing OLG to be a better choice than anywhere else on its own, instead of going after anyone competing with it to talk shit about them.
