It was pretty interesting while I was in last night. Not something I will probably stick with for long but it's cute. I agree though, it reminded me alot of Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Now I want to go dig out my CD and install that game again.

No, our target is more like "everyone."

I can tell you that the server backend for MP is in fact just as capable as the one we built UO on, or EQ. The rendering is probably the area that feels awkward -- and on that, it's a matter of what can currently be done in a browser. But that particular choice is one we have made for many reasons.

If you go exploring, you should find platform games, arcade shooters, puzzle games, racing games, and much more...

Signed up, looks super neat! I need to explore a bit more and try some building to see the potential, but let me say when my kid walked into the den.. she was all over it 'what's that dad?' she is really into club penguin and pixie hollow so the low rez tiler look of this is not a problem for her. For me yes its an adjustment being so used to 3d but I can see lots of advantages.

The right mouse button is deadly - nearly every time I have accidentally clicked it, the Flash player menu comes up, and then everything locks up.

I do .. the more cartoonish something is the less it holds my focus and attention; I've never been a comic book or cartoon afficianado. I've tried the 2D's and found them less than compelling and a bit boring after a short while. This one may prove different, but I don't see how 2D advances the technology or the experience, for me at least. Have fun LF.

The right-click freeze is something we are trying to track down. It seems to be erratic -- browser dependent perhaps?

Can you tell me what browsers, OS, and whether you were in tools or play?

It means you can embed the experience on any webpage
It means you can have the experience on mobile devices and low machines such as Netbooks
It means content creation is greatly democratized
It means you can directly use most of the common visual content on the Web instead of proprietary formats
It means no big download for install

Don't get me wrong, tons of VW applications require 3d, and some people will outright prefer it. We're not the platform for those people right now. (Someday).

I spend a little while rebuiding my home sim to something nice and classy: went with a steampunky look--it's almost finished. It's very compelling to make the place your own-- really fun.

Firefox 3.0.4, it happened in both tools and play. edit: Win XP 2.0.
