Playstation Home

Have you guys heard much about Playstation Home? Has anyone had a chance to use it? What are your thoughts on the system? I know it's a little taboo because it's on a console and not a computer system, although it does look pretty cool.

Some of the visuals actually remind me of Second Life in some ways.

Visually it'll be pretty.

But it's still just a god damned chat room with 3d graphics.

Well, not really. One can go to places and play games with other people that are online. There's not the ability to create one's own content at this time, but it's certainly more than just a chat room.

Okay, so it's like a more complicated-to-use version of Xfire.

It doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Very pretty graphics. Obviously SL inspired but I doubt there will be anything like the freedoms we get in SL. It blows similar stuff like 'There' away! I've seen this around for a while. It doesn't seem any closer to being released? BTW using a controller to type is absolute hell!

Using a controller to type is absolute Hell for old people like me that's true. I'm finding that lately, in my experience, other worlds compare to SL mostly in the sense that I have fun in them compared to the constant frustration that embodies The Grid All Hail The Central Grid.

Features notwithstanding, Second Life, for the first time in five years, simply isn't holding my attention beyond logging in to work and being met with one performance problem after another. It has ceased to be fun.
