Greetings SL Universe!


I am LaLa Legend aka LaLa Xevious (SL), Proprietor of Legend City Online (formerly known as Central Grid) and I would like to re-introduce myself back into the SL Universe community. I am very well aware of concerns that a lot of you may have with the virtual environment known as Central Grid as well as its previous owner and who you may have perceived are other “owners”. Due to my longstanding friendship with Cristiano and my hopes to be informative and open, I am taking this time to offer some information about myself, my team and our path beyond anything to do with CG.


About Me
I have been in virtual worlds since TSO and have made a lot of friends and connections from there. Started in SL in 2003 right after beta and honestly didn’t get the concept of its awesomeness lol, so I left and came back in 2004 as LaLa Xevious; when I thought I had a better grasp on its reality.
Early on (day3) I invested right away into my first land in Vari and dived right into building. I soon became addicted to prims and awaited the release of private islands. I purchased one right away and appropriately named it LaLa Land – Yes that was a bit corny! Anywho, corny or not, my mall/club served as a starting ground for a lot of people that became well known and well respected in their chosen SL professions. It also opened a door to a community of people that I adored watching grow and become more dynamic by the day with their innovative content.
Community is extremely important to me and it serves as the foundation of my new venture. I want to bring this back – this network of gifted people who where jazzed about coming online everyday and creating new content…people that educated each other…people that were once very confident about selling to the public. This is my vision….

Legend City Online Team
You will find some familiar names with the people on our team. I have been honored to know these folks and have worked with them in one way or another over the years. I honestly feel that I have the best team online with:

Asri Legend (Asri Falcone) - Featured custom builder and fashion designer in SL. Asri is our Creative Director and is in charge all visual aspects to do with our site, logos, ads, avatars, BetaBabies clothing line and any other graphically created content for LCO. Everything I have asked her for, she delivered without fail and with the quality only she could add. She is so extremely gifted with understanding my design aesthetic and vision as well as being a great friend and SL sister.

Tiger Legend (Sam Portocarrero) – Custom Builder and owner of Dominion Custom Homes, I’ve known Sammy for a long time and have watched him grow from a newb to an outright architect! His builds are phenomenal and his style is comparable to my own. Sam is officially LCO’s custom builder and has done an outstanding job developing our welcome center and surrounding corporate builds!

Strange Legend (Aleister Holt)– Strange is like a brother to me. He’s had an SL account for nearly 3 years but had probably only been on SL actively a total of 6 which makes him very much a newbie! LOL -- Nonetheless he was gifted enough to pick up 30 pages of a wiki and create our first test grid in a matter of days! He is our official GridMartian and assists in the configuration of our servers as well as their maintenance.

Melanie Legend (Melanie Miland) – Ah! The awe inspiring Grid Goddess herself! She is one of the core developers for the OpenSim Software and serves as LCO’s custom Core Developer. She is the proprietor of Elevate, M Design, Xumeo and author of CCS Game Systems. This woman has become such a great friend to me. I credit her with the innovation and execution of my vision for Legend City Online. She’s got the right stuff!

Haplo Legend (Haplo Voss) - Our Web Engineer is so outstanding that he’s dealt with me changing our site design and function 3 times until I could get it the way I wanted! He and his rl wife (Classy Legend aka Classy Magic) have been so good to me and have also become cherished friends – I can’t even begin to express my thanks for the countless hours that they’ve put forward and continue with. Classy is responsible for our wonderful homepage video that I was a part of (ahem, the singing mime hehe). They are my superduo, talented in video, web and so many other groovy things -- its been a pleasure getting to know them.

DocWes Legend (Khalied Jameson) - This is such a hard working young man! Gifted in programming, he has come on board to tackle our Land Store and assist in other areas of our development. He’s put a lot of time and thought into what my expectations are with our site and its functionality. He’s just flat out a nice guy and a great asset to our team!

Other Legends Exist – Although not all will be mentioned there have been a number of “Legends” that may appear in our community as they are doing specific projects such as:

Nubian Legend (Nubian Bliss) Owner of SimBliss and another SL Sister who is overseeing some terraforming work for our new mainland continent.

Estrelle Legend (Estrelle Fauna) Owner of PrimAdonnas who has contributed Avatars to our pre-selection for new users to choose from.

PieLady Legend (PieLady Smalls) Landscaper for our Welcome Area Sims.
You may see a few other “Legends” from time to time…All avatars in world with the last name Legend are associated with Legend City Online staff in some way.

Part 2....

Our Path
As I have become extremely educated with the “back end” or “technical” side of virtual environments and have learned more about what is and what aint – if you will – when it comes to the OpenSim environment and the Lay user. I am working very hard to structure our environment in a user-friendly way while taking time out to have technical meetings for the techie and non techie user. I think I see huge mistakes and misjudgments when people look for new grids or communities outside of SL as they immediately want to ‘compare’ fully functioning software to software that is on its bleeding edge and in its infancy state (Alpha). Education to help each other in this phase is a must

Our environment will be one of learning and community will be our main focus for development. We are encouraging testing and provide areas (Testerbuggs) for such while we ask for patience in our growth and the nuances that come with it.
Our first priorities as promised to our residents were to 1. Make the grid more stable 2. Make the site and overall structure more secure and 3. Give the community a means to be viable and marketable.

• To make the grid more stable we have migrated our regions to a fully Linux operated platform. As you can imagine this was no easy task nor do I know of another grid that has ever done it. We also have had to kick the machines more than I care to admit to work out bugs that are just in the software and needed to be addressed. The matrix in whole is pretty stable now and a lot of new faces are starting to appear and set up shops and homes.

• We noticed that security with passwords and overall protection of CG was lacking and we have created a secure and encrypted site for our residents’ passwords and account info as well as added security to the grid in general

• Although there was a currency actively in CG we took it one step further and are about to implement a fully functioning Legend Ðollar Exchange that works a lot like the one we are used to with SLEx. This was important in us driving our community to the next level of growth. We are the only independently owned matrix that offers a fully functioning and licensed currency system at this time.

So far in the 4 weeks that we’ve taken over we have:

My Account features offer our users an interactive way to:

• §Change Passwords
• §View Account Summary
• §Change Account Information
• §View Billing Information
• §Increase Your Credit – to add RL$ for Land or in world Currency
• §Buy Legend Ð$ (Ð is our currency symbol)

• §Use Legend Exchange (coming soon)
• §View your parcels or regions
• §Buy Land – new interactive land store coming soon - for now buying land is a bit more manual but check it out

oThere was a major reconfiguration done in software/database cleanup
oSome Search and Map features are working now like Places, Land, People and (Popular Places)

• §Events – being worked on for release soon
• §Classifieds – shortly after Events

I hope that this post will alleviate any concerns about any involvement with the prior owner, Frank Corsi aka Jasper Tizzy aka Maltos Sosa aka Cathy Such and Such aka whoever else lol. Not now or later will he or any of his employees be involved in Legend City Online or its main structure.

I also hope that Ive provided some insight as to who I am and who/what our team is about and our real course of action for development. Of course, there is quite a bit more to it, but I believe I have been wordy enough for one night! LOL Forgive my detail with my first post (in quite a few years) but I love my new community and where we are going! I get so enthusiastic and as I begin this arduous journey, I would like to invite you all to come visit us to test and develop in our new world – we’d love to have you!

I am going to add my personal endorsement for LaLa Xevious and the business she is building with Legend City Online. I have known LaLa from some of my earliest days in SL, and she has my utmost respect and trust. I wish her all the luck in the world with this project, and give it my enthusiastic support. We discussed the issues that arose in the past with Central Grid on SLU, and I am completely confident that under her direction, LCO will flourish. I ask that you please give her the benefit of the doubt, and not judge her on the mistakes of the former owner, who is in no way associated with the new business. I am excited that she has put together such an excellent team, including Asri Falcone and Sam Portocarrero, that have the talent and vision to make LCO into something extraordinary.

Hi Roxie

We have an open registration at: Legend City Metaverse Online

As the OpenSim software develops, we will continue to grow and implement customizations for our community. That software is currently in Alpha stage as well as the viewer we recommend (Hippo) - Since that is the case, it is a bit difficult to pinpoint a time when the software is 'fully functional'.......for all intent purposes, we are open and land is available.

I've just created an account over on Legend City Online, logged in and looked around. The whole place looks really nice and about the best speed I have experienced on an OpenSim grid so far. They encourage you to download the Hippo viewer for using this grid though.

I also had a great conversation with Melanie Miland who is one of the core developers over there. Despite being very busy she made a point of coming over to chat - thanks Melanie She even offered and gave me my SL surname instead of the one I picked from the list.
She said that they are releasing a new continent today, that Legend City is going to be a portal grid. This means that they intend to connect to other grids that comply with their requirements and allow your av to cross between grids.
She also told me that they intend to eventually build into the sim/viewer software the CCS at some point instead of it being a titler/hud attachment.
They are one of the few grids with a currency atm and their starting prices for sims looks very reasonable with openspaces USD$25 month and looks like USD$25 purchase cost too, full regions are USD$100 month and what looks like USD$100 purchase cost.

Just curious... what viewer do you recommend for Mac? I'm very curious to see how your grid works out-- it sounds very compelling.

Hi Guys - We currently dont have our avatars programmed in yet...they are showing up during the registration process but not ready for selection when you actually log in for your first rez. The reason for this is that we have updated them and are adding some final touches...We will in the interim put these avies in the Welcome Center for you to choose from when you rez in world at Legend City!

I have posted here in this thread that we are adding the avies you see during registration to the welcome center so you may choose 1 or all of them if you like. Also, we are updating our Avie pre-selection and will have this very soon.
