| Help with Second Inventory I have managed to create my own grid in OpenSim and am able to create objects in it. I recently purchased Second Inventory and have a few questions about it: 1) I can get objects from Second Life into Second Inventory, but need to know how to get objects into my own grid from Second Inventory. I tried adding my own grid in Second Inventory under Preferences, Grids, Add Grid. But nothing happens after that. It even disappears after a while. What am I doing wrong here? 2) I purchased Multiple Avatar version in Second Inventory. How do I add multiple avatars? The people I want to add have created their Second Life Avatar but Second Inventory cannot recognize their Avatar. 3) How do I become a member of the Second Inventory forum? When I try to register as a new member, it tells me that registration is not possible at this time and certain things are in Italian. I am doing a class project in OpenSim and would appreciate the help in answering my questions. Thanks ShahRukh |

My Mood: | Under preferences, custom grids, add Grid, or select your custom grid and edit Grid. The fields that mater are Login URI and Grid Engine, they should be http://127.0.0.1:9000/ and OpenSim respectively. remember to use the confirm button to save and close the window. At the top of the main window is the Avatar drop down list if your other Avatars are not on the list, just delete and retype it in. To get on the easy select list register them at the website. Remember SI doesn't save passwords so you have to retype the appropriate password every time you log onto a grid. also remember to select the grid you want to log onto from the next pull-down, it is easy to forget. ![]() each avatar will get an inventory folder under RL inventory tab as soon as that AV backs something up. You have to click on the folder and sub folders to find what in them SI doesn't allways add the + sign yet. And each Avatar can draw from the others RL inv folders to back up (recreate) from. |

Well, without knowing what you inputed in your settings for SI I don't know how to answer question #1. For #2, multiavatar means your own alts. You can only back up stuff and restore stuff if you have the name and password of the accounts and full perm rights. Also even with multi avatar you have to send to an avatar with the same name as the one you backed up with. In other words.. if I used Macphisto to back up and wanted to send to my standalone or OpenLife grid, then the avatar I am sending to must also be Macphisto Angelus. Multi avatar is more a convenience then anything for the user. #3.. I just logged into the forums and I get Italian for all links too. I dont know what is going on there. I recommend you join the Second Inventory group in Second Life and ask your questions there. Best to contact Angelo (the creator) directly and ask about the forums.. then ask these questions there. Good luck. | |
