I'm really impressed with this, even though it isn't an SL competitor. It is a browser based VW package with full lighting and shadowing - in many ways, it looks better than SL, and is done entirely in Java. Here's an article on it:

I think this looks better than Lively or WebFlock, graphically, but it doesn't seem to have avatars. It seems to be more of a "presentation tool." What do y'all think so far?

Actually is kind of similar to the work I've been doing lately (although obviously further advanced)

Ok, horrible name aside, that is incredibly impressive, and definitely has potential. I ran it in the Java Web Start thing, and seeing it running at 1920X1080 was very cool - the graphics were gorgeous.

Yeah, what really stunned me was the quality. Of course, they're doing it without avatars, but still, OpenGL 2.0 - same as SL. It is definitely going to be worth keeping our eyes on.

now, I know I have a low end geforce 2 video card right but in sl I get lighting and with this it says I cant use the lighting effects because it's disabled. went in and tryed to turn it on and it fail. but was prett darn nice from my low end of the spectrum
