| EA Land to Close July 30th EA-Land Blog In a way, it makes me sadder then I'd have thought I'd be. Altho I had dabbled in Cybertown before TSO, TSO was what really got me hooked on virtual worlds. I'd hoped in a way that by pushing along the "User Created Content" track EA would find a way to make TSO a little more relevant but I suppose at the end of it, 2D worlds are the dinosaurs of the metaverse. I could hazard a guess that perhaps EA will take the things they learned while trying to update TSO to EA Land and apply them to the Sims2... which might truly rock, but that probably isn't the case. I don't expect a whole lot of influx from EA Land to SL either, since the few times I logged into EA Land to poke around, most of what I heard regarding opinions about SL were that it was more like a virtual porn site or that it was just too full of griefers for anyone's liking. Anyway, I bow my head to TSO/EA Land and give it a wish to rest in peace. It held on way longer then anyone thought it would thru years of neglect and really, I think if EA hadn't pulled the plug I am sure there are many people who would have continued in the game eternally. Bye TSO |
