I just went back to look at the catalog for IMVU, and Anshe has over 2500 products in it, and also has a currency exchange for IMVU. She was definitely incredibly smart to diversify.

Well her stuff there isn't half bad, though it also isn't cheap comparatively. I was just looking at their developer program, I am impressed by the scope of it but I imagine it has some pyramidy scheme bullshit where you pay for each copy of the item and some submission fee like There had.

As I recall, what they did was... They sold components and such that you could use to build and resell your own composite designs. They did that for a while, then they started selling their own design composites (Furniture sets etc) made with the same pieces they had been selling designers at significantly lower rates than everyone else.

It kinda screwed up the market, and generated a lot of angst. Quite a few people referenced it when she pulled the 10Linden thing over here.

Yeah I noticed in the developer agreement that you can make your products deriveable, in which case you get a piece of the sale when it is used in something else.

It doesn't surprise me that she makes waves wherever she goes. She is nothing if not controversial and shrewd.

Anshe's thing is that every online place to her is a competition where she must prove herself.

I will never forget how she would tell me over and over again how she was "oppressed" by other guilds in Dark Age of Camelot and how she rose to defeat them all in glorious guild combat becoming the biggest most successful guild on the servers, and then again in Star Wars Galaxies, rinse and repeat. It is what she does - she lives for proving herself in virtual worlds & games. It has gone from an ego stroking affair to a money making one.

The power of greed is one of hell of a motivating force.

From what I can tell, here's how she did it:

- First she used ACS to make her own USD exchange service and crushing the competition of small private creators running small exchanges.

- Then she contacted major SL creators and offered to pay them for full IMVU account packages if they flood IMVU with quality products while using her exchange rate exclusively (failed, many creators took the accounts but did not use her service. Turns out Anshe is unlikeable!)

- Finally she started using in-house ACS developers to flood IMVU in the manner described in the posts above me.

This is basically the classical case of a heartless walmart stomping into a village full of small content makers.

Ferran and Surreal made some seriously high platforms with goldfish in them, i forget what they were called...

Oh yea, "PIMP Platforms with goldfish" and they come with some minor scripting:

Your shoes contain an animation overrider and original custom poses. The shoes will respond to these commands:

/31 up - raises the platforms, activates the poses.

/31 down - lowers the platforms, deactivates the poses.

/31 hide - hides the platform.

/31 show - shows the platform.

/31 reset - resets the scripts.


You do not need to take off your other animation overrider to wear these shoes. Your Avatar is unlocked from the waist up, so you can laugh, etc. while wearing them.

If you want to do an animation involving your entire Avatar, for example a dance animation, you can use the down command and the hide command to lower the platforms and unlock the body.
