Request for help: OpenSim Tutorials

I've had some requests from a few people to try see if we can setup a tutorials section on the OpenSim wiki, so we need some people to help fill out bits and pieces.

Tutorials on everything from how to use the new features in the RealXtend viewer, to how to install OpenSim on Deadbadger Linux v04.941 would be appreciated.

( see Tutorial How to xyz - OpenSim -- just link them into Category:Tutorials as that page will be linked off the support page soonish )

Anyone feel in the mood for writing anything?

Gah, I had to do a search and see if there really was a 'DeadBadger' distro.

I would be willing to write up some tutorials, if the demand is there. Perhaps if people had a poll or some other method of prioritizing what they would like to see guides written on the most?

Actually I think I made a slight mistake a sim seems to run a bunch of regions going by the diagram and so my TCP 8895 connections might be a bit misleading since they are region to region connections. But hmm close enough?

There's a crying need for documentation. I'd like to help where I can. Lack of communication is starting to become the number one problem at OpenlifeGrid and frankly I am getting really impatient. If there's anything that I can do to make what I'm going through with OLG something that DOESN'T happen to other people.

I mirror the above sentiments. Lack of proper documentation/communication is the biggest obstacle I've run into so far. Alas, this also means that, currently, I don't have much to contribute to a tutorial, but as I learn and figure things out, and get feedback, I'd be more than happy to document it.

I'd love to see something more like a tutorial -- I'm trying to install the software on a VPS server running Ubuntu 8.04 and having big issues with the instructions on opensimulator.org. Since I'm new to online servers and Ubuntu/linux, you can see I'm quickly over my head. I came here looking for help and would appreciate any pointers to forums etc.
Of course once I get it running I'll be an expert... and THEN I'd be happy to write something for the wicki.

Give some details.

This might help too, just skip the parts about getting a server & changing the opensim.ini (unless you want to attach to osgrid.org)
