| Open Sim - all prims phantom Hi I have been following with great interest Open Sim so decided to download the software to play with for building and testing locally on my own computer. I succesfully installed the OpenSim exe from the website - Vrs 0.6.3 (couldn't get opensim v0.6.5.9700 to install for some reason kept getting error message at end - will try again later). I downloaded the Hippo Viewer and connected as local host and it all worked. I am there standing ruthed on my tiny circular island. I thought "great" I'll rezz some prims and start building. What is happening is all the prims I rez are phantom ( not set that way in hippo client ). I thought thats strange so I looked around the official Open Sim forum and seem someone else had a similar problem. The suggestion was to open the OpenSim.ini file in wordpad and scroll down to the Physics section and add ";" to basic physics and remove ";" from opendynamic engine, also to add ";" to .... meshing = ZeroMesher and remove ";" from Meshmerizer. I done this restarted everything but all my prims when rezzed are still phantom. Anyone got any ideas whats going wrong ? not sure if it's the 0.6.3 version acting up but it was the main download on intro page and easy to install as an exe. I'm using Vista 32 bit with a Nvidia 9800gt card. Marie |

| Me Too! I'm having the same issue. I've had a quick look through what documentation I can find and I think it might be related to the permissions set on the avatar at creation. There seems to be a number of levels (0) being the default. I'm wondering if this sets the avatar into some sort of god mode that makes them able to walk through any prims on the region. If anyone knows how to fix this I would be very grateful. Cheers. |

Business: Red Fedora Productions | Enable physics or the sim will be unable to generate bounding boxes for the prims you make. |
