My case for opensims

Who here, who runs/manages/bans people from an opensim or opengrid would have banned me for letting one of my adopted SL daughters grow up and become my partner?

*crickets*

Yeah, I thought so.

Honestly? If all of our friends and stuff weren't on the LL grid, and we could move our stuff.... I'd be GONE.
Hopefully there will be a time soon where that is possible.

Don't count on it. From what I've seen, quite a few essential scripting features are still missing, i.e. most of the events. Sadly.

For LSL, I think the only thing missing from Opensim's implementation is with regards to vehicles, otherwise it's almost completely supported. I believe the number is 90%.

And it also supports better programming languages 100% too.

Kinda. The events, as I said, are mostly missing.

LSL Functions:

LSL Status/Functions - OpenSim

Looking good. But..

LSL Events:

LSL Status/Events - OpenSim

This is where things still look bleak :|

Yeah, Functions was updated in February, Events in October.

I know some of the stuff on both listed as unimplemented have been since then.

I agree, Sarah. Have you figured out what the one of the left is wearing? And why do they look like zombie carnivore llamas?

I asked him wtf it was and he just kept repeating something that sounded like "Mud grass horse!!! Mud grass horse!!! Mud grass horse!!!" and I got really really uncomfortable and locked myself in the bathroom.

This article should be required reading for Linden Lab right about now.

Looks like I'll be moving to an OpenGrid... reading through the posts to find out which is the most developed. I can build, but I'm hoping to find one well enough established to have other content creators on it.

(No such thing as "OpenGrid.")

The terminology would be "moving to a grid running OpenSimulator, like OSGrid, OpenLifeGrid, etc."

I'd recommend OSGrid... many of the others seem to have zOMG DRAHMA everywhere. Just read through some threads on here.

the green things are a mashup between Bunchies and the popular anime series, Naruto. The blue character is supposed to be Sasuke and the pink Sakura.
