Updating grid map on opensim

I've got opensim installed on my home PC in standalone mode. I have configured two island sims on it and everything is fine except for one thing: After loading (and baking) new terrain, the world map won't update. See the pic below.

The mini-map is telling the truth, but the world map is still showing terrain that was replaced days ago.

Is there a way to make it refresh?

Oh - never mind! I figured it out.

Open the xml file for each region in the opensim/regions folder, and change the lastmap_refresh value to 0. The world map will then be updated when OpenSim is restarted.

That top pic looks pretty. From what I can see the islands look great in shape and height. Good job.

Oh Mac - I can't claim credit for that terrain!

Those two islands are mods of the IslandType4.raw files provided by LL. I rotated one clockwise and the other anti-clockwise just because they look more natural, and create a nice enclosed bay, when facing each other like that.

My custom terrains (skull & crossbones, Italy, etc.) were boring me senseless. It's nice to have some *natural* terrain to look at while building... it really is.

I still think the skull and crossbones rock HARD. I have tried to make terrains and they end up looking thousands of miles high and jagged as heck. lol. I salute you for your terraforming magic.

Thanks for the links too. There are some great ones on the OpenLife website you can snag free too. They are under the extra downloads section.

I need to set up my standalone again. I noticed on OpenLife attachments are persisting between log ins now. I am assuming OpenSim gurus made that happen so I need to download the newest build.

Things are happening so fast with developments. It is FUN to watch.

In the server console type 'terrain multiply 0.45' to flatten out an elevation. the 'help' command is another good one.
