A good book, or at least an interesting one.
An interesting problem to try and solve.
Good food, especially seafood. The humble fish and chips are enough, often enough.
A task I can delve into without a deadline and just concentrate on what I'm doing. I'm weird, but getting to go on my own and weld something up or design something or track down a problem in a car lets me clear my mind if I'm not outright enjoying the process of doing something.

Edited to add: Boats of any type and size, from the littlest kayak to the largest sailboat. I guess I read The Wind in The Willows too much, since I find most anything involving boats worth doing. Or maybe it's a good excuse to sit back and relax on something that isn't really work.

This evening, when I was out in the barn feeding the horses, my little black horse (who I've had since '01) put his head out of his stall and just nuzzled up against my chest and closed his eyes and sighed.

I cannot describe how happy those moments make me.

Yesterday I went to Kinokuniya bookstore in Uwajamaya in the International District in Seattle. I was with a friend who had to return a book he'd bought a second copy of on accident. I hadn't been there in a while, so I looked through the English manga section to see if there was anything I had to have -- and there was! Wandering Son is a very, very good manga and Fantagraphic Books is putting it out in large hardcover editions ($20 each -- 12 volumes planned). It was scary to contemplate how much money the entire series would cost me -- and that was when I only knew there were six volumes, which is what they had in the store! But how can I resist having a nice hardcover collection of a manga series that I really think is worthwhile?

I also picked up William Shakespeare's Star Wars, which is too much fun, and Vader's Little Princess, which is even more fun.

So yeah, finding cool new books, that makes me happy. Even if I just got finished moving the metric ton of books, CDs, and DVDs that I already own.

Speaking of which, I also picked up a "Kilby" bookshelf at Ikea -- this is a downscale version of their Billy bookcase, it's about 26" wide and 9" deep, which makes it perfect for storing DVDs, except that it really could use a couple of more shelves and they don't sell extra Kilby shelves. But anyway, I assembled it last night and stacked DVDs in it and it makes me happy.

- Working out until my legs are wobbly and I'm covered with sweat, then talking an unreasonably long, hot shower and then jumping naked into clean sheets
- My dog, who both makes me happy and also seems like such the happy working dog, even when his only job is to carefully supervise me folding my socks
- Coming home so hungry I could eat my own head only to find that the BF has dropped off something tasty to eat and left a sweet note
- Watching a really talented person tell a story that is as engaging as any movie
- Laying your head on the chest of someone you love and feeling life pulse through them
- Really great shoes
- Everything about ballet: the pinkness and beauty of so much of it, the feel and look of toe shoes, the demanding exactness and difficulty; it all makes me happy
