My Mood: | I'm not a fan of Greys either, but don't have disdain for it or anything. I enjoyed Journeyman a lot more than I thought I would. Maybe I'm just that big a fan of Rome... although it was a bit on the ultra-cheesy side, I thought the ending was fantastic (won't spoil it for those who haven't seen) - didn't quite see that coming. Very dark. Regards, -Flip

I burn out from coding and troubleshooting all day. Partly why I don't do a lot of scripting in LSL...

Yes, it is completely true. There is some pretty damaging stuff that thankfully Johnny didn't put on the air. When you have an unscripted show, these things happened. Mostly it's Torrid smack talking people's dogs. Oh wait, that was Tenshi on the SL Herald. I do wish the lost Prokofy tapes could be found - there is an entire segment of that episode mysteriously missing, and it was the best part. A highlight of that show was Jauani getting cut off mid-sentence and thinking it was a Skype problem, when I had hung up on him to shut him up. Also, one of the funniest moments for me personally was never recorded - which was my fight with Adam Linden in our podcast afterparty. We were randomly dialing people, and he was unlucky enough to have been around. He and I ended up getting into a shouting match that became increasingly swear filled, to the point that Johnny had to hang up on me to separate us lol. Adam and I worked it out after, but man, it was a spectacular fight (I might possibly have called him a "whiny little pussy", for example). ![]()

I don't script much in LSL not because I am burnt out on coding, but because LSL is so frustrating once you know how to program in a real language. There's a lot I don't like about it. I keep meaning to check it out now that it can communicate with the web, but I can't think of anything I really want to do until I have the ability to dynamically pull in images. Until then, my focus remains on doing web stuff for SL. I have a big project coming up after Snapzilla's update is done, and a lot more to do with SLShopper.

| *speculative* Say a competitor to Second Life comes along and, a) is obviously better than the Company in terms of functionality, customer service and all that, and, b) Second Life remains much as today, ...what happens to SLUniverse? Would you stay with the community (presumably moving over in large part), the SL platform, or try to do both?

My Mood: | I am a huge fan of Opera - I discovered it with version 8, and fell in love with the UI and speed of it, especially compared to the over hyped Firefox. I would love to use it as my primary browser, but I still find too many tradeoffs with it, which is a shame. I also get frustrated by it being the odd man out when you have stuff that works fine in IE and Firefox. Sticking to standards is a wonderful goal, but the browser needs to still be more forgiving. I have high hopes for version 9.5 and beyond - one of these days, I truly hope they get it right. |
