Mass Jailbreak in Sussex

In these times of world unrest and terrible stories of child murders I take comfort in my local newspaper's grasp of what makes a great story

15 Hamsters escape from a cage

A pet shop had originally sold two of the hamsters as a same-sex pair but soon after they produced a litter of 13 babies.
That happened to me once. I bought two male gerbils from the pet shop when I was about fourteen, but it transpired I wasn't watching homosexuality in action after all when the babies began popping out.

I remember selling two of the male offspring to a friend too, and a few weeks later he was complaining about unwanted gerbil babies. Oops.

I'm of the belief the two missing hamsters are chained together like Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis ... escaping through the Sussex countryside but at the same time exploring their prejudices.

Can anybody else feel the lolhamster revolution a-coming?

I am glad to see that the press in the UK is on top of matters of grave import like this. I am ultimately disappointed, however, because the article was not accompanied by a picture of a topless bosomy 18-year-old. C'mon, Murdoch, get with the program!

My boyfriend bought a copy yesterday (don't ask, we have arguments about his newspaper purchases), so I can at least provide a modicum of boobage for this thread.

I won't embed the pic in case Cristiano's webhost considers Britain's "fun, family newspaper" equatable to soft-porn or something.

I seem to remember there being some issues here with identifying my gender at first, hehe

Strange, as sexing a hamster is really very easy.

Just ask it to assemble a flat-pack bookcase - if it reads the instructions first it is a female, if it just goes ahead and buggers the whole thing up - male

Oh, and it won't leave the toilet seat up if it is female, of course.

This hamster is a cute girly specimen, btw, so no more lifting my tail to check, please.
