Today is the biggest day for job hunting

I heard on the radio that today, the first official work day after the holidays, is the biggest job searching day of the year. People have had time to reflect over the holidays and have realized that sweet mother of crap, I have got to get out of here.

Apparently 40% of employees will be looking for new jobs today. So if you're one of these people and you run across a job that involves watching a lot of tv and napping, give me a ring.

Are you looking?

Here in the UK it's also the busiest day for solictors (Lawyers ... not street walkers ) as more initial inquirys about divorce are filed today than any other day of the year ... The Holiday season can put a lot of stress on marriages

Funny. The opposite happened to me. I was hating my job. I so wanted to get out of here. My former company contacted me just before Christmas to make a return, they laid off my department back in August and now realized it was a mistake. I was offered to come back as a manager.

At my current companies Christmas Party I really got to learn alot about some of the people. I also started to grow a strong respect for my upper management.

So this morning I called my former employer and declined the offer.

I am passively looking for a job. If the right one comes up, I will take it. But until then, I am content.

I'm not looking for a job until the economy turns around, which won't be for a couple years at this rate, if ever.
