My mate has just been flown to a tropical diseases clinic in London from Eritrea with malaria and dysentery - this is the problem with Brits - because we don't pay for medical treatment, we do stupid things like go to places with insane levels of disease.
The silly bugger.

Thanks - I am sure he'll be fine. With the amount he craps, it can't stay in his system for long. We lived next to each other in Japan 3 years ago and he was very proud of his poo (which he referred to as his forests [Forest Gump = Dump])

Oooh, is that the sexy guy who was with you at the penis festival?

Send him hugs from me.

Seriously, I hope he'll be all right.

I don't know much more right now. My mother is a wreck but at least is at home and sedated. My dad is in the hospital for at least a week and the Dr's don't know anything at this point in time.

This is all a very bad dream. I love my parents, even though they are not my real parents. I never had a real father growing up so the man I call my dad is the only father figure I have ever known. We never got along when I was growing up, it wasn't until I was well into my late 20's that he even told me he was proud of the person I had become.

There is only one person on this planet I am terrified of and that is my father. Not because he beat me or berated me, because the worse thing I could ever do was disappoint him. He demanded perfection and would drive us harder and harder until we either attained perfection or fell from exhaustion trying.

He never coddled us, that wasn't his way. The more tender feelings were never his way, he and I are alot alike in that manner. You know if we like you. You know if we don't like you. There are never any shades of gray. We, as children, knew when we fucked up.

I can still remember the epic screaming fights that happened when I was growing up. He was passionate about his opinions just as I was passionate about mine. The only reason I believe that it never came to blows would be because of my mother interfering before it got -too- heated.

He taught me never to back down. You hit everything with all you have or don't even bother trying. None of this half-assed bullshit. That never made the grade.

My father is very much responsible for who and what I am.

That is my greatest achievement. I am my father's daughter.
Hope things are well. I am sorry to hear about this...and can relate.

I am also my fathers daughter. Same as you, very rational and rarely "emotional". I am very proud to be just like him.

.This isn't a "goodbye post". It's not a post to get reactions from anyone. The second I post this I'll log out and not even check for responses. The reason I post this is to get it out of my system.

I cried after yesterday's discussion. And I've kept crying since.

I won't bother to explain what and why and how. Last night I told the one that matters most to me and he didn't understand me either. So how can I expect you to?

The only thing I will say is that I don't think anyone was out to attack me personally. Sorry Cindy and the rest of you if it seemed like I did.

I'm sure you all feel I should stop being part of any community. Believe me I feel that myself. But I would have felt the exactly the same thing if (and it does) it would have happened in RL. I can't stop living can I?

Again I am sorry for letting out my sadness and frustration. I'll be back when I'm feeling better. If I'm welcomed.

I have a dying dog to take care of now. It's my mum's dog, but she's too sad to be with him. He was unconscious when I got home today. He must have gotten another stroke, thought he was getting better.

Hope you will be back soon and I am sorry to hear about your dog

I honestly don't know why you think this Lila. People tried to explain that a certain thread wasn't intended to attack vegetarians, but only seem to have upset you even more.

Maybe you feel people here don't care because fewer went out on a limb to get you to return this time compared to the last time you almost left, but they will only make that kind of effort so many times.

Nobody thinks bad things about you Lila, and nobody wants you out. Most people involved in that thread you're upset about have almost certainly forgotten about it and moved on. Why don't you do the same? Do you really think we'd have dragged you to Lourdes party last week if we didn't think very much of you?

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother's dog, but maybe that isn't helping your mood and everything seems worse than it is? Apparently you're not reading this, but on the off chance you are, I'll end by saying I hope you'll return when you're in a better place.

Quorn is the best thing ever. We need to export it to Japan.

Actually, I need to write them a letter because research I did in Japan indicates that Quorn would be AMAZINGLY successful even though there are few vegetarians there. The Japanese love the idea of Quorn being healthier than meat without making it from animals (though I suspect they like the lack of animals due to them having few animals or room for farms, rather than for humane reasons)

You will be welcomed. No one is pushing you out.

I think one problem is evident in the phrase under your avatar. It currently reads: "Being part of the minority means you that you will always 'be wrong'". To put this in a joking manner, you are wrong. It means that others will have a conflicting perspective, in large part due to a difference in personal history that lead to a different world view. This does not make your perspective "wrong", just different. You can see this as others telling you wrong and internalize it to the degree that it makes you cry. Or you can realize that you have a significant different from another, be confident in your belief, and not allow someone else's opinion of your beliefs matter so much. And you can appreciate humor about it when it is not meant in a hurtful way.

I am believe there is a good chance you will interpret this as some sort of attack, another person calling you "stupid", tell you that you don't belong, or saying you are too sensitive. Or even read that last sentence as another sort of insult. I can't make you not see it this way, but it is not intended as such. You often seem see insults and personal ridicule in places where they don't exist. This must make a lot of things painful for you. I wish you would see that no one intends for this to happen. You appear to be the person who is most negative about you. Not even talking about SLU, I hope this changes soon.

Urk - been offered another job interview tomorrow but also got an email from the company I was interviewed by yesterday saying they've been trying to contact me.

If I get offered the job, do I go to the interview tomorrow anyway?
