Seems like the right thread for this...

My position with my company has finally been axed. My final day with the company will be Aug 22nd.

My industry is real estate lending, so I'm pretty damn sure there will be few, if any jobs available for me in this field...and hell, I've been in it for 17 years. Only saving grace to my position is that it is/was a sales and tech training position, instead of intrinsically woven into the real estate lending industry, so I may be able to bullshit someone into believing I have some value to another line of work...

Either that, or I'm better practice my lines..."You wananny fries wit dat?"

My Mood:

Just packing for my time travelling adventure - a long weekend on the Isle of Wight - for non-Brits, The Isle of Wight is like Britain was 30 years ago - The culture shock won't be too bad because I live in a place which is 20 years behind . The Weather Forecast of torrential rain later today and all day Saturday are right on cue .

Have fun! I was in Cowes a few weeks ago. We were meant to go camping in France for the weekend but the car broke down, and we ended up going to the Isle of Wight instead (we have friends living there).

Our village is twenty years behind too. Kind of odd considering it hosts a major university.

There's a certain road that behaves like the Berlin wall, keeping the cosmopolitan students and local riff-raff apart.
