I talk to my two Abys all the time, in a human voice only though! Sweetie pea trained me on the meowing... one day she was sitting next to me meowing, and I turned and meowed back in my loud soprano... She batted my face such a one, two punch that she blacked my eye, and gave me a nose bleed!

My voice teacher to this day believes I was the victim of domestic violence and made up the cat story as a cover-up.

I saved a chatlog. We were sitting on the couch last Sunday:

Me: NOOOO! Throw the damned ball! Who runs on 3rd and long when you're trailing late in the game like that!!
Dog: woof, grr, woof
Me: What? No they don't. The run game has sucked all year.
Dog: woof, woof, sniffle
Me: His arm is fine - plus, look at their recivers. You HAVE to throw the ball there
Dog: waf, woof, rolf
Me: Listen, Stupid, they had no hope of converting, and you know it. Now you're just trying to piss me off.
Dog: Woof, woof
Me: Well, they AREN'T Chicago, now are they? Who were they going to run there? WHO?
Dog: Woof
Me: What? Are you nuts? That guy is short yardage only!
Dog: Woof, woof, woof
Me: No, no, no. Short yardage! Damn it, are you high!!?? I've had it with you and the stupid Seahawks and their stupid running game and especially YOU, with your snide woofs and your oh-so-superior attitude! You don't know anything about sports! You root for Fresno State, Univ. of Washington and Gonzaga just because their mascot is a dog! The Hawks had no business running the ball, and you should be ashamed of even thinking about supporting stupid play calls like that that are ony designed to keep us at the bottom of the NFC West! It's like the team is PURPOSELY trying to shotgun any hopes we might ever have of getting to the playoffs!
Dog:Woof?
Me: Yes. They are personally out to destroy my life. I have a letter from the coach to prove it, and I'd show it to you, but you can't read.
Dog:Woof?
Me: Ok, ok. I'll turn it to NASCAR. But tonight, I get to watch Dollhouse. No Animal Planet until after I go to bed. Then the remote is all yours.

I totally talk to my cat. I swear she knows I'm pissed-off at her when she loses her collar/tags. It's like she knows she's being a jerk when I have to take time off of work to pick her butt up from the shelter.. she's like "meow meow meow I'm kissing your ass because I really F'd up meow meow meow.." . No more Miss I Missed You Soo Much from me! I'm not buying it for a minute!!!!

No pets here but i do "talk" to next doors dog at least twice a week. He seems to understand "Get off the fucking lawn ya mutt and crap in your own garden!" Well, until the next time

I talk to mine....don't even realize it half the time..have 2 dogs and 2 cats...and they all think they have to sleep next to me at night! they get like 3/4 of the bed and I get a little section on the edge! Love my babies though...even if they don't always mind. Just like kids =) haha
