My Mood: | Doggie owners beware So I was cleaning the house today and decided to peer into the forbidden depths beneath my bed. Rather than finding the expected dust bunnies and dead spiders ... I found a hidden lair between some storage bins with two pairs of my panties, 5 hair elastics, one sock, and assorted paper towel rolls and shredded paper towels. My little dog Belle is apparently very prudent in these tough economic times ... saving up for her future. You never know when that stuff will come in handy!

My Mood: SL Join Date: 08-19-2003 | Belle is adorable and apparently a kleptomaniac like my dog. I love it when you post pictures of her! ![]() Emme is 8 1/2 pounds now and she regularly collects her weight in socks, underwear, shredded paper towels, hair scrunchies, mail and other assorted items in her quest to keep from starving in post apocalyptic Gainesville. She prefers to keep her treasures under the ottoman in the living room. Emme also frequently attempts to eat things that aren't usually considered food. My husband had a dream about this very topic last week. "I had a dream that Emme tried to eat some broken glass and as I picked her up, trying to pry the glass from her mouth I somehow managed to turn her upside down. So, I start shaking her and suddenly, things she's eaten start falling to the floor. Broken glass, a watch, pills, a couple of lizards, socks, underwear....." We looked at our little brown furry tube of hair with teeth peacefully sleeping in our bed with her head on my pillow and laughed so hard we woke her up. She just gave us a look of disdain and burrowed under the covers for another power nap.

My Mood: | LOL! Fortunately Belle is a really fussy eater so I haven't had many problems. She shreds paper but that's about it. In fact she often uses food items as toys. I once gave her an almond. She took it away and I figured she devoured it. A few days later I saw her tossing something around. On closer examination, it was the almond (chewed but uneaten!) She also loves to play with ice cubes. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 08-19-2003 | Emme will eat anything that doesn't eat her first. I think mini dachshunds are the only small dogs who aren't fussy eaters. Belle sounds like my mother's dog, Teddy. He does the same thing, plays with a piece of food, takes a couple of test bites out of it but ultimately, never eats it. We used to think the only food she didn't like was green peppers (a piece of one fell as I was chopping them up for a salad) and she chewed it then spit it out! A few weeks later, though, we had stuffed green peppers for dinner and she loved the cooked green peppers. She is a weird dog. We actually have to keep her out of the kitchen when one of us is chopping onions because if one falls, she will inhale it before we can get it out of her mouth. She also caught a chicken bone in mid air and my husband had to pin her to the floor while I pried it out of her jaws! |

My Mood: SLShopper Ads: 2 SL Join Date: August 05 | My male dog hides pizza crusts. He never eats them he just hides them and brings them out now and then and growls at the other dogs when they get close. I have no idea where he puts them but I've rolled over on hard crust in my sleep several times.

| Re: Doggie owners beware My pug/terrier is on a strict diet. Someone in the house dropped a stick of butter. He hid it behind the refridgerator and took a few licks everyday until the other dog turned him in. I was wondering why he would not let the other dog near the fridge. Just protecting his tasy cholesterol snack stick.

My Mood: SL Join Date: 1/2008 | What's really fun is when the dog decides to retrieve a pair of thong panties from his stash and run through the house with it when you have company and that "company" is a male co-worker. ![]() I was mortified. |
