Newcastle Centre for Life - the main science centre as well as office buildings and loads of gay bars, like Camp David.

The Sage, Millennium Bridge and Tyne Bridge

Films based in Newcastle Get Carter is not a good one for reference, though, since it was set before Newcastle's major refurbishment.

I've never seen a gay parade, but then in Newcastle I doubt it would be noticed as people tend to dress up rather wildly every night of the week There was one bar that offered half price drinks for everyone dressed as a schoolgirl (including the men) but I think it's gone now

How could I forget Earl Grey (as in Earl Grey tea) - there's a monument to him right in the city centre where I work!

I might have to camp out in Bryan Ferry's bushes and throw myself at him and force him to sing Slave To Love. And Blade Runner is my all time favorite movie!!!!
Also looks like you have some awesome architects.

This rate the best place to get magic mushrooms this autumn will be in St James Park.

Marsden Grotto's worth a visit as well....and I'd say to pop in the Azure Blue off Coatsworth Road as well but since Vivian got stabbed its not really the same. Could try the Ord Arms in Cowgate just to see the axe marks in the bar counter as well.

Ah yes, happy times.

ooooh and dont stand at the bar waiting for your turn either...its them that shouts loudest who gets served 1st. Easy to adapt to when you want a night on the piss, not so easy to revert to waiting your turn to be served when you leave the NE, try standing behind people at the bar and shouting your order to the barman at the top of your voice anywhere else, youre all god to get chinned.

I liked photos of Saltwell Park in the snow, how pretty is this? And of course that is the jewish neighborhood as I have been informed. Hmmm. How did I gravitate to that instinctively? I can't wait to discover what farmer's markets y'all have. And Muka, lets not forget the Great Distillery Tour of Scotland. We're going to need a designated driver but it aint' going to be me...

but come on, think of the bagels? the matzo soup and deli meats??????
it actually reminds me a little of Oakland, where its been impoverished, industrial, and run down bu they're trying to build it up and introduce yuppies into the neighborhood and what not. So maybe find a bigger place for less rent? Also I find it funny that all the way over there, Velm has heard of the Raiders reputation. Stabbings and sorry state of "football" teams indeed. I was raised around the San Diego Chargers.

i just love coloquialisms and their histories.

i also love Newcastle ale and Newcastle United.
Martins is an amazing player.
Ok I'll field this one. There are a few suggested etymologies but the most oft-quoted one is that the people of the North East of England supported King George (of England) during the Jacobite rebellions in the 1700s. So it's a corruption of "Georgie".

I can't wait til you get here Lily baby!
