Tonight I showed my mom Icanhascheezburger.com and while I'm chuckling away she's saying, "what does that say?"
So I translate the captions for her and all she said after that was, "but...its spelled all wrong. Why did they do that?"

I have hit the same barrier with my mom. Emoticons were an uphill battle too. When I typed a smiley face to her, she asked how I did it, and I said type : and ), and she typed ": and )".
