I saw another falcon this morning! Right outside my balcony. It was so close, I was able to see the different colours and markings, along with the flesh and blood of the morsel of critter he was tearing at. I was half awake, as it was very early, and I couldn't pull my eyes away.

It was only about 8 feet away, and 3-4 feet higher up, and as he was eating, he kept looking over at me with a what-the-hell-are-you-lookig-at expression on his birdy face.

Or maybe he was simply evaluating what kind of threat I was, and calculating the distance between his beak and my juicy eyeballs.

My niece and her girlfriend are getting married this weekend!

My daughter has had a rough first week of school this week, so I haven't had a chance to go shopping for a nice outfit to wear. I was talking to my sister last night and said I hope no one minded if I showed up in cargo pants and a t-shirt.

Today she called me back and said she had told her daughter that and her daughter howled laughing. She told my sister that if I showed up in cargo pants and a t-shirt that her bride would be extremely jealous and might just change out of her wedding dress after the ceremony! Too funny.

Sometimes my sleep apnea leaves me really incoherent and I tell myself I can just carry on and not make any mistakes. And then a few hours goes by and I realize that on something I made a mistake and I didn't catch it at the time. It also makes it hard for me to see through the many manipulative games I have to deal with all day. And then I get down on myself and a little more time goes by and I realize the jerks are the same as before, I haven't done anything really wrong, I'm just plain exhausted and sleepy.

Still trying to get the sleep apnea device to work and it's not working so far

I guess I'll be a single mom in, oh, about 4 months, or a little longer. This has all happened relatively quickly, I think, and I'm still adjusting. I always intended the family situation to continue forever, and never expected it to be easy. I assumed it would take work, but I guess we're just going to be one of the almost half of marriages which end up this way.

There's a lot of , but there's also a little and a huge dose of

I would imagine that as time goes on, those little smilies will change places.

I do, it's just not working out well and I'm not a candidate for a cpap. I can't get the time off for surgery and I've had enough surgery for a lifetime already. If I could get my dental work finally settled I could finally make a serious run at trying to fit a mouthpiece. It takes a long time for it to become effective because you're basically training yourself with it to put your jaw in an unnatural position. And I keep getting dental issues that interfere with the fitting.

If I may, why not a candidate for a cpap? That has made such a huge change in my life, I actually feel that I have a brain most days now.

I'm finally working on putting the last boxes of 'non-necessary' items away and, even after throwing out bags of stuff when I moved, I still seem to have enough beauty products and makeup to stock a small store.

Hugs Shiloh.

Being a single mummy does get a bit freaky at times that's for sure.

After about 3 years my smilies are mostly and with an occasional and lets not forget the random

My 10-day vacation started yesterday, Mrs. Beebo left town to visit her family, and I'm all alone in the house.

Places I'm going during that time: bed for a nap, living room couch for a nap, maybe go a bit wild and nap in the guest room, too.

Places I probably won't visit: the kitchen sink, the Outside World.

This year has been very challenging and I'm feeling a bit toasty around the edges. I was covering for a pregnant co-worker from January to May, and we were under considerable pressure to be billable throughout the summer. I have several new clients on my account load and no fewer responsibilities. It's been invigorating, but I'm tired. Bone-deep tired.

Did I mention I'm going to take lots of naps?

I cleaned out my worm factory yesterday after running it for 4 months. I was felt rather good and fuzzy that I'd managed to turn nearly all our household junk mail and consumer paper/cardboard leftovers into approx 10lbs of rich, nearly black garden compost.

Now all I need is to pull the finger out and set up the garden to start putting it in.....

And all those moving boxes I'm eyeing off... you gonna be nom nom nommed.

We did try it for the sleep test. Because of my leg and other problems I can't sleep on my side or back. I can only sleep basically on my face, between breaking the seal on the mask and the pressure from the cpap air being painful it just wasn't working out. I was actually sleepier after the cpap test than I was before.

Depends on the mask. I have to sleep on my stomach, and I put my face sideways on the edge of the pillow. I use a second pillow under my breasts to give my upper body a slight rise which helps alot. I use the nasal pillows, which is *SO* much more comfortable that the full mask, and I use a strip of foam tape to keep my mouth closed. I was never able to get the full mask to work well, and was soo happy when the CPAP company let me trial the nasal pillows.

If I lay on my back no amount of pressure can keep my airway open (they only went up to 25, said more than that was dangerous). The pressure when you first start out is difficult, but my doctor started me out low, and over 8 week ramped it up to the 16.5 I am at now.

Flies are nasty devil spawn. I hate them. They disgust and revolt me. They eat shit, infest wounds, and kill priests.

A whole swarm (12+?) of them covered my livingroom windows this morning. WTF? Where did they come from? How does that happen? I stood there in my, erm, night t-shirt like a deer in headlights. I was scared.

If at that precise moment a deep voice had told me to 'GET OUT!', I would have, well, run out. No stopping to investigate for me. Call me a wuss, I don't care.

Anyhoo, there was no demonic voice, so I took my courage in both hands and got up close to pull out the screen and let the devil babies out. I held my breath and pulled and twisted as they buzzed around my face and tried to enter my mouth and land on my eyeballs, and both tabs broke.

I ran back to the kitchen to breathe a bit, then ran back and opened the balcony door. After running around with a towel, rodeo style, they all finally decided to haunt someone else.

Effing disgusting.

Can you sleeping sitting up? I mean with pillows propped up under and behind you (and under your knees)?

Some nights my pain issues are so bad that's the only comfortable position for me. I also have pillow under my knees, which take the pressure off my back and help with restless legs.

Maybe you can sleep in one of these (some of the giant gigaballs get to 84", or adult sized)

http://www.amazon.com/HearthSong-GBO...all+for+adults

http://www.amazon.com/Swimline-9073-...624087&sr=1-11

http://www.amazon.com/Swimline-The-P...623973&sr=1-50

Found via "human hamster ball" on Amazon - I'm only half joking, desperate times call for desperate measures, and they wouldn't be sold if they weren't comfortable.

Unfortunately fluid pools in my legs so I have to lay down at least part of the day and sleep is when I do it.

If I ever HAVE to sleep sitting up because of my mild hernia I don't know what I'll do. A recliner might help (or a hospital bed) but then the apnea would be much worse. Gah!

I have though because of lung fluid in bronchitis had no choice but to sit up, I could breathe but sleep was very bad and my legs also.

They do look soft and inviting.

Maybe sleep part of the night upright and the next part laying down. I always get up after four hours of sleep anyway. I am playing around with ideas.
