My kid's on the speakerphone to her boyfriend, i poke my head in and say loudly "sorry to interrupt, i just wanted you to know your order of adult diapers showed up" and then i walked out, hearing her explain that her stepdad is just a jerk but also laughing about it.

I was pretty pleased.

What kind of step father are you?! If you really cared, you'd put your money where your mouth is.

As I walked off I thought to myself "man, you really need a filter". then I cheered myself up by thinking "hey you didn't say penis pump!"

This week I am booting out of my group a handful of divisive, gossipy morons who made my virtual life a living hell for the last couple months. I was so proud of myself: I actually said, "Finish your season and then you and your group of Drama Ho's get lost and we never want to see you around again."

Mardi Gras is absolute madness for me, I feel so happy it's over. I'm ready for a day or two where I don't have to do anything, but I won't get that quite yet

I'm just glad we're only expected to cook and eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday

I only had 3 (5.5-hour) shifts at work this week. Time's been cut in general.

I think it's time I find something else. What a grand vista of job opportunities Louisiana is for a 32-year-old cashier with no formal skills.

I've been assisting at a dubbing studio for almost 2 years. frontpage | The Kitchen | Language Dubbing, Subtitling, Translation, Voice Over, Editing & Graphic Customization As an assistant AD i get to work with their system along with protools, manage the Artistic directors and help them out with their needs to get the project done. Ironically I'm kind of like the superman in the office.. .reminding people of things they forget ,investigating missing files and constantly covering for people to keep everything going smoothly.

My co-worker is finally tired of the long miami travel times and is ready to call it quits... I've been offered her position. It would take me from full time freelancer to full time salary employee meaning i'll get benefits, a raise and insurance.

However, She kinda like a project manager/ casting director... unlike my current job it means dealing with more documents and paperwork and being on the phone all day and sometimes after work cause calls get routed to my cell. Id have to research and schedule talent and work closely with sales team.. in particular the VP whos head isn't wrapped too tight says one thing to sell it and another thing to me and by the end of the day your lost...

I 've covered for my co-worker several times and know most the job already... But as a full time position pulling from the creative production working side to more administration and dealing with the talents(What to say to them if they don't show up or how to talk to them if they don't get thier check on time.)

Having to make cold calls and places that I'd never think existed to get people who speak other languages just to do a small commercial for some client that is difficult to deal with cause they are constantly changing their minds and live half away across the world....

It would be great to add to my resume and portfolio in the future, it would be a challenge, but i'm not sure if i want to do it...

ty for anyone who took the time to read this..

Been there Kalel... unfortunately it didn't work out for me. The boss ended up piling more and more work on me to the point it became way too much. I lost out on doing the work i enjoyed doing.

There were some much more interesting sides to the Production Management role i had... but to be honest if i'd known beforehand how the downsides would really pull me down... i'm not sure i would have taken the job. I was expecting them, as you are... but i didn't handle that side of the job well.

Good luck with whatever you decide, but don't leave it too long to find other work if things begin to go the wrong way. The other option would be to take the Job while they find someone else and you can go back to your other position? Or maybe negotiate that your existing positions can become permanent?

It's almost a knee jerk reaction to say yes to a promotion and a raise. You sound as if you have your head on straight to be considering that might not be the best way to go for you. I wish I had some good advice. But you do have my best wishes.

Would it be possible to do it on a probationary basis - see how you like the job and how they like you in the job, then if it doesn't work out, switch back to what you're doing just now? I know some places that are flexible enough for that to happen Good luck whatever you decide!

This is as good a place to say this as anywhere:

If you need my attention, I have PMs on. I have Tapatalk checking for new PMs regularly. I'm really busy and scarcely have time for meatspace commitments some days let alone forums. I am also on Facebook, name's Kristian Cee. If you send a friend request make sure you message me who you are too.

Be good.

Only advice I got for you is:

1) Turn off the news. It's all bullshit designed to scare you.
2) Tap into your network.
3) Remember that even though you are feeling low and worthless, you need to project the opposite.
4) Girl... you and I both know Louisiana ain't exactly "job central"
5) You probably have skills that you're not even thinking about.
6) Comfort Zone Shmumfort Zone. F#@k that shit.

Gotta be at Stanford Hospital at 8am tomorrow for spouse's surgery. That means we're leaving our house just before 5:30 in the morning, due to traffic through San Jose and my needing to eat. Surgery is to close hole in intestines that has been causing trouble for almost two years. I'm hoping everything goes well with no complications. No complications would be a very welcome change from the typical situations we face.
