I felt worried like you too.
I made sure to make friends with the staff and called them on their down times (when they weren't busy with the kids) to check on my daughter). It started as a daily ritual then trickled to every other day, until I was convinced she was doing okay without me.

I haven't called yet It's an in-home day care, run by a lady with two long-time helpers. He seemed pretty preoccupied with all the new toys and adults when I left him, and they seemed like a very happy crew. I just wish I could look in once in a while is all Be a fly on the wall, etc...

The receptionist down the hall is too lazy to get up from her desk and come into my office to speak to me. Instead she yells from her front office down the hall. I have this overwhelming urge to walk down the hall into her office and kick over her trashcan.

Tell her the trashcan is causing too much "reverb" and you can't hear her screaming clearly... smile sweetly... walk away.

The subtlety may be too much, but it's more fun to play with their little minds...

Thread Title of the Week
I keep getting random inexplicable pains in the joints of my hands and feet, which last a couple days and then go away, only to crop up in a new location a few days or a week later...last week it was the ring and pinky finger of my left hand, this morning I woke to pain in the joints of my right big toe and the related metatarsal. Someone on Plurk suggested arthritis, but I'd expect that to be more consistently located.

And I'm only 38, damn it!

It's the cold weather moving in, Ann.
I've noticed I get pains where my bones have broken lately as the storms are coming.

I was going to say "But I've never broken a bone!" until I realized that was maybe not quite true. I've never broken a bone that I know of, but I did slam the hand in a car door as a child and drop a heavy pallet on the toe as an adult.

I suppose old injuries possibly making themselves known this way is still a sign of aging, but I feel better.

hmm how about a circulation problem? I am only 40 and I've had serious aching inmy shoulder for several months, perhaps a year. It may be arthritis no idea. Sometimes its in my shoulder joint itself, other times it goes down my upper arm. I can't even afford a check up at the doctor, but would something like tai chi or acupuncture help us?

Have you looked at something like this site: AFP - The Painful Shoulder. As someone who avoids doctor visits for as long as I can, I find their info very helpful.

I'd suggest seeing a physiotherapist. A minor problem with your back could be causing occasional dispersed pain.
I agree about the arthritis.

What I'm about to say probably sounds like granny bull crap but I've never broken a bone though when I was a child I seriously hurt both my knees falling down a very steep concrete hill. My right knee makes itself known by a barable but annoying discomfort, my mother used to always say " thats because we are having rain the next couple of days or so" O_o

Also, Ann, I hope your alright

"This copy of Windows is not genuine"
"Windows Update encountered an unknown error"
"The Volume Shadow Copy service used by System Restore is not working"

So does this mean HP is sending out shoddy counterfeit versions of Windows 7?

I entered my key again and restarted, which got rid of the 'not genuine' message, but my computer won't finish verifying the key because it can't create a restore point. I did eventually get the update working, but that hasn't made a difference in the System Restore issue. Oh, and I actually had the same error in Vista shortly after I got this computer but was able to restore it back a bit to fix it...unfortunately, there are no available restore points this time since, despite claiming it created one after the upgrade last night, it actually did nothing.

Business: Slacker and layabout.
1. Moved into new apartment Sunday/Monday.

2. Have been without cable tv and internet since Sunday/Monday. Therefor, I've missed both Monday and Tuesday night wrestling, this week's Heroes, the premiere of the V remake, and precious time in SL with friends and family. (I'm currently posting this from my phone.)

3. The earliest Comcast can get out here is Friday. Oh joy.

4. I'm fighting off a sore throat.

5. I work up this morning to discover the gas in this wonderful heat included apartment had been cut off, and won't be turned back on until the 11th. A full week of microwave dinners and cold showers? Hooray!!

6. The keyboard on this refurbished G1 doesn't act right so texting/posting takes longer than it should.

7. I'm being a lazy bum and refusing to wash the cereal bowl and spoon in my sink because "my hands will get cold".

8. I just finished watching 28 Weeks later and now have an urge to play a GTA style survival horror game set in London.

9. It's next to impossible to find decent internet porn on a G1.
