There is no limit to the ecstasy that can be achieved with home-grown carrots.

Meatless in Paris: Dining for vegetarian visitors

But don't expect veggie fare to be easier on the wallet. Even if L'Arpege serves up more spinach than lobster, its prices remain in line with those of other three-star restaurants. At lunch, its eight-course tasting menu runs $170. At dinner, the 10-course menu costs $450, not including wine.

"We want to create a 'grand cru' from vegetables," said Passard. "I talk about carrots the way others talk about Chardonnay or Sauvignon."

I have such a wicked head cold, I feel like my face is going to explode! All day at work, I focused on surviving until I could get home.

I really hate summer colds. The heat just makes the misery that much more intense.

Ah well, I guess it's better than having swine flu or worse KOALA HERPES!!!!!!

Arrgh.

I just spent 30 minutes trying to work out WTF was up with my sorting algorithm. Turns out the data was incomplete, and getting complete data is going to be difficult. >_<

There are people who still implement custom sorting algorithms in high-level languages?
You're one of those people?

Sure - I've got a bunch of chronological data and need to group it into certain classes then sort the lot before charting it -- the sorting algorithm I am refering to is the one that sorts it into the groups.

Ah, so you lied - that's categorising, not sorting

Sorting is re-arranging a sequenced list into a different order, categorisation is............ placing into categories.

If classification is sorting, then my naive bayesian classifier and neural net lib is in fact a pile of sorting algorithms that each use only 1 compare operation - knuth would be proud.

What fun it is that Gareth is now acting like a pilchard in several threads rather than confining it to just the one.

Ugh I just got asked to work Christmas day.

I probably should. It'll be busy and probably not more than four hours or so, and I think it's around 50 bucks an hour. Sigh. I haven't worked a Christmas day since I had kids.

I just suffered through some of King Kong with Naomi Watts.
I hate her. I wished she would have died several times. Adrian Brody is hot though.

Willow, four hours isn't too bad and $200 isn't anything to sneeze at, but you have to do what's right for you and for your children. I've offered to work a four hour block of time on a major holiday like Thanksgiving and while it's not that much of the day, it still left me feeling rushed and stressed about all the things I still had left to do and would still have to do once I got home.
