I just found Ponoko which is like the Cafe Press of laser cutting! Simply submit your Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand or Inkscape & have your design laser cut. You get back a prototype to tweak & once you're happy with your product you can sell it through their site if you wish- or sell it on your own or give 'em away or keep it alllll for yourself They'll also take jpgs and other images though I haven't looked at that process yet. 2D design, 3D design- whatever floats your boat. What a great way to test the design waters without jumping for a starter cutter like Zing or having friends with cool tools.
