i love my robot

I bought a refurbished scooba for about $150. I know I know, it's not as environmentally friendly as me actually cleaning my own home, but i just don't bother to, and if you think about it i'm probably keeping a potential pandemic at bay with this thing. Plus it leaves me more time to read this nonsense you post.

I don't want to argue about the electricity it uses, nor any other "you wasted your money" stuff, i just wanted to say that i love it. It uses fuzzy-logic, and i find myself watching how it works. I'm not sure how it figures out the patterns, but i will say that it does a very very good job at cleaning the rooms i put it in, it sort of spirals out and remembers places it needs to come back and do a little bit more.

sorry for any drama, i just like this new toy of mine, and wanted to give it five pickles for being programmed well and designed well:

here is a kitten on one (not my scooba, not my kitten) just for cute factor for anybody who doesn't know what one is.

I think these look so cool, but I know one would only last about 5 mins in my house before it was killed by a sock, beanie baby, or a chihuahua.

Taco, how much power do those things actually consume?

Your post makes you sound like somebody who's been beaten daily with an environmentally safe, bio-degradable, 100% recyclable, animal product-free enviro-whip.

Enjoy your Scooba. It looks really cool!

A scooba, huh? Sounds cool. I'm the happy owner of a regular old Roomba, and it's great. It's not a very good conversationalist, but it gets the floors clean.

oh I just feel like "i should do this myself" - the problem is I never do, so this thing really helps out. I think i charge it for about an hour and a half and it goes through a 45 minute cycle, so probably not too inefficient...i guess i just feel like this is something i should be doing on my own. It fucking rocks though, weber, it's really neat

I used to have a Roomba as well, and I loved it. It vacuumed as well as a regular vacuum, and all I had to do was turn it on and ignore it. It did it's thing, then rolled over to the docking thing and docked itself.

I so want one of these. I hate hoovering, I don't do it anywhere near enough, and my husband is a bit of a clean freak. I could set this off every day, marvel at it's construction and the AI involved, entertain my cats and keep my husband happy, all while sitting here and reading SLU.

E.T.A. I just looked them up online, I can't afford it Need to start saving my pennies.

OOO! I would love one of those, and the hubby would love having it in the house for the cool robot factor. But I am sure I would feel just like you about it Taco, hee. That I should really be doing it on my own. But still....*sigh* it would be nice to have....and I would still have to pick up after my kids anyway just so it could get around, heh. I may just have to check into getting a refurbished one.

Wait 'til that thing starts to develop it's own language and then attempts to murder you in your sleep. Then you'll be sorry.
