Sometimes in the Nobody Cares thread someone makes a post that people truly do care about. Things like loss and love and illness. They really don't belong in Nobody Cares because honestly, most of us do care when others are in pain.

So if it's possible, I'd like to have this thread stickied, so people can post the things that others do care about, and get the support that all of us want to give.

I think that is a great idea, Brig. It would allow people to post things that they want to disclose and get support from others without starting a new thread. And it would allow "Nobody cares" to be about more trivial/minor ranty/random stuff.

This is a typical Brig thread. I came to the conclusion long ago that even if no-one else cared Brig would.....because she is like that. A compassionate lady with a heart of gold and I am proud to know her.

Also she has blue pills and knows when to use em

I often think it's sad when someone posts something in Nobody Cares about bereavement or illness, because many people never see it, and have no idea that one of their forum friends is going through something painful in RL.

This thread is a lovely idea.

I have good news too - our Central bank just lowered official cash interest rates by a whole percent, which makes my newly solo mortgage a much more affordable prospect.

I'm also glad you all like the idea of this thread. I read something in Nobody Cares last night that really broke my heart, and it occurred to me that there was no way it belonged in a trivial thread like that one. Most of the people in SLU *do* care about what the others are going through, and it would be nice to have a place to offer their support. I hope Cris will sticky this for that reason.

A couple of months ago, I thought my social anxiety had gone the way of the dodo.
Since I'm unemployed, it's slowly creeping back up and I don't know how to stop it.

I have to find a truckload of documents for the job center and have to fill lots and lots of forms, so that's probably the trigger.

It is at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Same pay grade, but less crazy hours, around more technical people (I'm around none now <frown>), lots of vacation and benefits, great environment, free grad school... win win win!

I'll be working for Wharton Research Data Services, and playing with all kinds of cool tech and REALLY BIG SETS OF DATA (10 gigs new per month, heh). Yes, data gets me hot.
