Photoshop CS4

I am so excited! The new Photoshop release date is released tomorrow! Yay for releasing release dates.

Photoshop CS4 has really funky image resizing as seen here.

I love getting new Photoshops

It will also take a panorama and put it into a 3D spherical map in Photoshop and allow you to edit it in 3D then go back to 2D afterwards. The example shown was a panorama of inside a church where there was a seam at the top pole where the joins all met, so they went into 3D and added an ornament on top of the seam, then went back to 2D yay

Also, full editing directly onto 3D objects is now supported - all you 2nd life clothing designers take note!

Wow... it is now easier than ever to salvage that awesome picture of you at the beach and cut out that cheating ass hole of an ex-boyfriend who's spoiling it for you.

Yay technology!

Oh that's wonderful. The "preview only" thing that CS3 had was the thing that made me decide not to get it. Painting directly onto the model will make it more like working in zbrush wooot!

It doesn't really show it in that video but you can also enlarge and it fills in details. In a big video I saw, they had 5 golfers and stretched the image vertically and horizontally until only 2 golfers fit on the page, but it created extra sky, clouds and grass

Oh, the golfers didn't increase in size, which was sort of my point but I didn't mention it. They simple spread the gap between them all.

Abyssin just realised how to pronounce Siyu Suen.

Uh, they've stuck to their promise and made an x64 version, right?

Does this mean we finally get Flash for x64 too? (CS4 suite contains Flash Professional after all.)

Sucks having to use 32-bit browsers on a 64-bit OS just because there isn't a 64-bit version of Flash.

i haven't heard cs4 was going to use that funky resizing. that actually doesn't sit quite right with me. i don't know quite what it is that gives me the creeps about it. it's not like i don't know that photos can be retouched and basically faked to the point where it doesn't represent reality. but even in those cases, by the time it gets to a web browser you're still seeing the end result of a creative process.

this is cool technology for sure. but to see the changes happen in real time, removing whole sections of pixels decided by software, just brings out the luddite in me and makes me yearn for a fixed size photo.

i, for one, do not welcome our new photo resizing overlords.

I have heard a lot of photographers make the same complaints.
Yes, it will make it easier to capture people against scenery, but at least in crowd scenes, you need the power of the person behind the camera.

What is the cut off with photographers in digital art? The composition, lighting, planet? Photography has changed a lot in the digital age, for better or for worse.

Personally, I try to keep my artwork as unedited as possible, using Photoshop to resize, adjust contrast and crop.

So there! Check out my gallery at Steve ZPJ's art page or else I stick you fool!
