Josh inferred this point, but I wanted to restate it because A) I agree with it, and B) I like to post.

The big difference between you and Coulter, Aimee, is the (and hey, my views may be wrong!) caveat. You accept the possibility of other beliefs while keeping your own. That's a much stronger and smarter way of thinking than what is currently being used in the political/religious landscape.

I call it the Miller Credo (after Dennis Miller, who coined it back when he was funny): "Of course, that's just my opinion. I might be wrong."

You're mistaken. It's also as difficult to say "Jews believe" as it is to say "Christians believe" since there are many different sects of both with varying beliefs.

At its simplest both believe the same God, and most nearly everything from Genesis to before any mention of John the Baptist. From that point on is a lot of divergence.

IIRC Jesus Christ (or Emmanuel Bar Miriam?) is regarded as a prophet, and not the Messiah by the Jews. Jews await the Messiah.

Well I am glad that Coulter finally gets the attention she has been craving. In pursuit of this media attention she has just about done everything else:

So I think that pretty much leaves jews as the final straw.

Funny how you have to say something bad about jews to ruin your career these days, just about everything else passes.

Maybe we can get Lindsay Blohan, Paris Hilton, Kanye West, and Britney on this same wagon and get rid of them all at once.

Do they believe in the same God? Many Christians believe in a Trinity - a 3/1. That's specifically not a Jewish belief, being polytheistic no matter how you rationalize it. I know Christian's tend to believe that their God the Father is the Jewish God, but Jews don't necessarily agree. Especially since the Christian view of the Jewish God pretty much stops at the end of the Old Testament, and the Jewish view of God doesn't.

The Jewish scriptures are cherry picked by Christians, not adopted wholely in the Hebrew with the Jewish interpretations.

Judaism is not a religion per se as much as it is a philosophy or a cultural identity. You don't have to make a statement of faith to be part of the tribe, as with most Christian and Islamic sects. You can be religious or irreligious, or even an atheist and still be a Jew. For the most part the only requirement is that your Mother is Jewish, and if you're a boy, that you are circumcised. If you're a Reform Jew, then your Dad could be Jewish and Mom not. It's only if a gentile wants to be adopted that there are religious requirements and even they vary by sect.

As for the Messiah, some are waiting - some aren't - some believe in a Messianic age, etc. There is a huge range of belief on that subject.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the average Christian doesn't actually know very much about Judaism, neither historically nor in a modern sense, so they should be wary about the idea of Judeo-Christian.
