"At their best", yes, but we know that's rare. Christianity and Islam do represent the belief that they are the 'one true faith', but it's not a critical factor in the general beliefs. As with everything, individual people choose what they believe, to tolerate or not to. Only some of the Christians in the world believe in an 'exclusive' view of faith.

I do know that the stated position of Judaism is that, since not everyone can be one of 'the chosen people', that other religions are okay, and that if you're Goyim, all you have to do is be true to your own religion in order to be a good person.

Ann Coulter is not a politician, she's a pundit. She has never held office, and never will. She's a commentator, a blabbermouth, an example of why the phrase STFU was invented.

I don't respect Coulter, because I get the feeling that she doesn't really think before she speaks. She may believe these things, but she's not very tactful about it. And she doesn't do very well defending herself in public, which indicates that her beliefs are not well thought-out. Her religious faith is not very sophisticated at all.

I'm perfectly fine with Ann Coulter speaking her mind, and I'm also glad to be able to say in public that I think much of what she says is stupid.

There are plenty of people who voice unpopular opinions. Some are voices of compassion and understanding during dark times. Others are purely divisive voices who refuse to acknowledge differing opinions. Ann Coulter belongs to the latter group.

I have no respect for Fred Phelps because he knows he voices an opinion not shared by most Americans. I also think Ann Coulter is a rotten cunt who spews hatred. I judge a person by the content of their speech, not the fact that they may be a lone voice.

First of all, Ingrid is correct, and everybpdy should always "agree with Clancy".

Secondly, prinţesă, you have the right and the responsibility to judge whether what someone says is valuable and worthy of being repeated or not. Not everyone has the mental ability to do this but they certainly have the right to try. But, you're not trying. You are simply elevating the simple achievement of expressing any opinion, regardless of its moral value, to the status of something profound. Would you applaud a neo-nazi for addressing residents of a Jewish nursing home on the reasons why exterminating Jews was really a good thing during WWII?

You have the right and the responsibillity to judge what is good and bad. In the case of Ann Coulter, she's bad, really bad. I won't defend, and certainly won't commend her for saying anything, unless she comes out with a massive apology for all of the confused, backwards, right-wing shite she has uttered throughout her media career.

You cannot see the forest for the trees, many times. Please, be contemplative of that critical remark because I am not the only other reasonable and intelligent person here telling you this.
