Please stop posting cute pictures of ferrets.

You are making me want to get a pet one, and I just know that will be trouble.

Just bear in mind that they get sick at around 4-5 years old and it gets expensive. We've had 5... and 4 out of 5 got sick.

We don't regret it, but it's definitely something that we think about every time we see baby ferrets and are tempted to adopt another one...

That's why I stick to virtual ferrets, we have enough medical expenses in RL as it is.

I used to keep rats and had a similar problem. They don't live long, and females in particular - well the rate of incidence of mammary cancer in female rats is nearly 100%.

It makes me seriously question any cancer studies involving rats. All of my rats died of various cancers and had nothing but a normal diet. Depressingly short-lived critters

Apologies for the mild necro, but I'd like to make sure Argent is aware of this:

I've seen that one, yes. There's several versions of it with different audio tracks.

I might as well join in on Carter's necro............................

I miss my rats as they were by far the most intelligent smaller mammals we ever had. The males we got rid of after my ex became jealous of their rather generous endowment For anyone that has not seen an adult male, their testes are huge and actually drag on the ground LOL. The females are sweet as can be and I would rate them as smart as ferrets.

The same sad outcome though as yours, all died within a year or so of tumors. And I will never by another one.
