My Mood:   | Dives in head first... zOMG! There's no water in the pool!  It's a good thing it's just virtual water. Phew! But seriously... Hi there, everybody!  My name is Rooke and I'm an ... oh, wait a minute, oops. Let's try that again. It's good to be here. I've been lurking for a few months now, waiting for a good time to show my face in here. Now seems as good a time as any seeing that I've got some time to do this. A few of you have seen me over in the LL RA forums a few times, but I never got a chance to introduce myself due to my having a bad case of Strifeitis - the fear that Strife will lock my thread or ban my **s for not posting something that LL deems as a question pertaining to SL. So here's my chance to turn that around... Why do I think I belong here? Cause I like to speak my mind, don't like to pull any punches, and I've got lots of different attitudes and writing styles which, from what I've seen so far, I think a few of you will enjoy. People that have lots of attitude (so long as it's not bad) and share the above with me also go a long way in my book. (No, that's figuratively. I'm not writing a book... yet... if ever.) I am not politically correct. But, I'm also not vulgar. I save vulgar for when it's really, really needed. Too much vulgar makes it loose it's shock value. Nuff said. I like kittehz, pies, and shiny things. Btw, my name - Rooke is an olde English spelling for rook, which is a European crow with a white patch under it's beak. It also happens to be my real middle name in RL. In RL, I'm male, married (happily), 55 (that is correct - fifty five) years old, straight, and an ex-(by over 30 yrs)hippie. Oh yeah, I've also got Dyslexia, and have a bit of Asperger's Syndrome, so if for any reason I type something that doesn't make sense at all, it's because I didn't quadruple check what I did for the third time and missed a screwup. Feel free to question or correct anything you read from my finger tips. Professionally, I've been an Analyst/Programmer/Software Engineer/Designer and a few other titles since '77 (one of the reasons I use so many damn parenthesis). On the amateur side I've been doing graphics stuff since '98. I've been in SL for about 11 months now, spending most of that time learning how to torture tiny prims ( I love to torture them  ), building, making scultpies, and just trying to figure out WTFIGO (... is going on). Also, there's this little stall with some of my stuff that I've made (see my sig for details). You won't see a lot of posts from me, mainly cause they won't let me use the computers at work to do that sort of stuff, and I'm still trying to get my s**t together regarding making stuff and getting it out there. So, that's it. I hope you like what you read.  Cause if you don't, well, that's just too bad, you've already read it.  Have at it. Hijack this thread.
