Songs you can't get out of your head

No matter what you do

Please do not post a Rebecca Black video. You WILL be hunted down and depantsed!

I'm not sure what causes this. I listen to a lot of music most days and don't remember most of it getting into an infinite repeat loop in my head. I don't even think it's due to repetitive or catchy lyrics. But maybe it is.

Recently, after the Grammies, I got on an Adele kick and had "Set Fire to the Rain" going over and over.

Then I watched a rerun of an older SNL show last Saturday night, and now THIS song is stuck so deep in my brain it's leaving ruts:

(PS and I hate whistling!)

This song gets into my head at the worst possible time.

Like in the middle of sex.

Anyone with children of a certain age knows this one....

This is the song that doesn't end,
It just goes on and on my friends,
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it forever just because,

This is the song that doesn't end,
It just goes on and on my friends,
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it forever just because,

This is the song that doesn't end...

Curse this song! Especially since it reminds me of conspiracy theorist nonsense.

"Earworm" is the technical term.

This one's been stuck in my head since around 1980 (the drum bit, of course):

Probably been some 28 years since I last listened to it and now that I did, it turns out it's actually not much of anything...

This damn song started haunting me somewhere in the middle of my trip to Malaysia - I think the first time was on a hotel tv in the middle of a Bollywood movie of all things. After that, it was on the radio every single time I was in my Dad or brother's car ... then we arrive back in the US and in the cab on the way back from the airport it's on the radio again!

Argh.
