I just got wind of two individuals who copied one of my homes. Upon visiting their platform, I found over a hundred items there from many different creators. I filed an an abuse report then backed it up with a ticket. I also notified all the creators I could identify the items from. SL took 5 days to take down the thieves items but...they still have their accounts? Why doesn't SL remove the accounts immediately? As long as the accounts survive so does the stolen inventory that these people possess and what's to stop them from simply moving elsewhere and continuing to steal everything in sight? They were even squatting on Linden abandoned land so they didn't even have to buy Mainland like the rest of us honest folk. As a hard-working business-person in Sl who spends thousands every month in tier, I really resent the way we are treated by LL when people like this get away with what they do. Any comments? Am I allowed to give names?

I don't think they do much unless you file a DMCA takedown. A simple AR isn't the same thing.

I agree, it seems though that filing a dmca doesn't do much either though. What I don't get is why they don't remove the accounts immediately of these people. It's a no-brainer.

well without a creator prepared to swear under oath .. and putting their RL info on the line ..
and having LL remove stuff on an AR/ticket alone..
then it would just be open season wouldnt it..

these are the things required by law..
the law that LL adheres to .. to retain safe harbour status.
they cant act on an AR by a pseudonom..

if its worth that much to you .. then file DMCA .. own your work
if it isnt then .. well thats it isnt it.
