Why is this post here? Why can't you ask your group? You probably have thousands of customers that already like your products that you can ask what they want to see from you in the future, asking random people on a forum is not good target marketing.

I have always been a fan of Elizabeth Malczynski ever since she did the cover art for two of the original McCaffreys' Harper Hall books, pictured below:

Her catalog is full of whimsical costumes of this style and is an absolute delight to look at.

ETA: These pictures are available as limited edition prints, for $225 and $250 each. I intend to purchase them once I'm working again in a month or two.

ETA: sticks his tongue out at Eboni and reminds her that the people here likely represent a much higher signal to noise ratio than her group as far as responses, and people will post pictures here.

I want, in general, fancier mesh. A lot of mesh dresses, while they move with the body great, are very basic as far as design goes. They sometimes have a rubbery look that doesn't seem quite realistic. I want to see flowers, ruffles, detailed wrinkles and edges that aren't just on the textures. Feathers, 3D lace, ribbons. Mesh, sculpted, and/or flexi add-on parts, if necessary. Crazy big gowns like this with individual mesh flowers all put together rather than a texture (may not be your thing, but someone should make it):

For fitting issues, with alphas, if a body part is covered by a mesh, that part should be alpha-ed out. The mesh shouldn't be depended on to cover it. ESPECIALLY nipples and crotches, if it's a dress that should all be alpha-ed out. I got a demo of a mesh dress template the other day, the alpha didn't cover the boobs and I was a tiny bit bigger...so it didn't fit me. There was no reason I could see for it not to cover the boobs. This is also important so that mesh wearers don't appear naked in non-mesh viewers.

I like mesh that is closely fitted to the body on top and doesn't make me look like I'm wearing a tent (not a commentary on your stuff, it's just a trend/problem I'm seeing in mesh blouses).

^^ Yes that...I had to take the male musician I manage clothes shopping and I can't believe how hard it is to find decent clothes for men that aren't gangster, gothic, flamboyant, or just plain ugly. Make polos, dress shirts, khakis, jackets, suits, tuxes...you'll get a lot of sales!

because the more ideas the better in my books I like to take inspirations from more than one source, and sometimes its good to broaden our appeal

because until we get either a) standard sizing for men or b) a deformer we just arent willing to go down that path. Eventually we may consider it however

These forums are not for surveys, and this is the business forum, not the fashion or content creation forum. Come on.

Nobody is forcing you to read the thread.

Posting in the virtual business section to ask what other people would like to see made seems perfectly relevant to.. everybody but you, apparently.
Granted, it would be relevant to several other sections too, but I'm still not seeing your problem.

I think this thread is very appropriate - there needs to be more public discussion of what is missing and needed in the mesh market as far as style and fitting. I had considered starting a similar thread myself about my frustrations with mesh as a shopper. And it doesn't belong in Content Creation because she needs the opinions of shoppers, and those who don't create don't tend to read that forum.

This seemed the most approriate forum. Putting it in fashion was likely to get someone moaning at me that i was advertising my business and as ayesha said im aware many people who dont make items dont look in the content creation forum.

However if you think it should be moved the thread can be reported to Cris who will move it if he feels it needs to move.

Spoken like someone who has never met me.

Seriously. I just want to hug and squeeze you right now. This has so much potential for fun and SLU is such a great venue for a thread like this. I know not everything can and will be made, but it is fun to play in a thread like this and if it leads to inspiration and product, well then, bonus!

I have an old album on RLetc, and a thread too, I think, in which I put stuff I came across while looking at RL fashion and thinking how that might translate here. Some of it was vintage, so it would not be entirely trended out by now, so to speak. I'll throw the link and a few samples in here. Then I'll keep an eye out for new inspirations.

^^^ That pic reminds me, Aliselia, I've noticed a real prevalent belt and buckle aesthetic in Second Life fashion. I really like it. It translates well to the virtual world.
