Great Advertising Opportunities!

Ad rates for SL Homes & Gardens Magazine:

Full page ad: Inside FRONT cover L$8,500 each, OR both pages, inside FRONT cover 14,000L on a first come first serve basis.
Full page ad: Inside BACK cover L$10,000 each, OR both pages, inside BACK cover 16,000L on a first come first serve basis.

(Placement anywhere in the magazine)
Two page ad: L$10000
Full page ad: L$7,000
Half page ad: L$,000
Quarter page ad: L$2,500
Specific page ad: An additional L$3000 per ad

Buy 2 months of ad space (at one time) and get the 3rd month free!
Keep a magazine kiosk at your site and get a 1/2 page free every other month.

***Please note, a 30%, non-refundable deposit is required for any and all ads at their time of submission. No exceptions.***

If you want a specific page number for your ad placement, please add an additional L$3,000 to your bill. This will be on a first come first serve basis, provided the magazine content itself doesn't need the space itself. You will be notified of any changes before publishing the issue. Otherwise, all ads will be place randomly without prejudice according to submission dates.

All ads MUST be sent out of world to slhg@live.com

We are making the magazine in a "Letter sized" format, 8.5x11, so please make your ads the highest quality image you can, and size it accordingly to the size ad you want. For example, a square ad of 512x512 will not produce a nice looking 1/2 page ad. Make it closer to a rectangle like 600x800 or bigger. Or a 800x600 would make a nice 1/4 page ad as an example.

It's easier to reduce an image and crop it down. I would rather have too much then not enough. You can always use the U.S. inches method and divide the sizes. For example, 1/2 page ad would be 8.5x5.5 inches, and so forth.

Keep in mind, if you do make your image too big, and when it's reduced to a page in the magazine, it may be too small to read. You don't want that to happen. Also use fonts on backgrounds that are easy to read. Small gold font on a black background makes it extremely hard to read and blurs the letters, unless the font is big enough.

We cannot be responsible for unreadable ads that are submitted. I will try every effort to warn you and allow you to make changes before the deadline is up.

We will need sponsors for various items, prizes and props for photo shoots, if you participate in our sponsorship program you will receive 1/4 page ad free for that month!

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Place ad now. Ask silly questions later.

What is this, the Spanish Inquisition? Just buy some ad space already!

But if you must do more "research", check out some of his past posts. Should clear up your skepticism.

Ocean, I have no doubts that you will succeed as you are persistent, which is good!

Just remember though that you can not use "SL", as it is copyrighted and they do defend it. And as Humps pointed out in round a bout fashion: you may want to flesh out Better "Homes and Gardens" copyright to see if they have variants covered.

Nonsense. He has every right to keep the word "and" in his title.

Somebody was lamenting not having first person camera in SL the other day and the first words out of my mouth were " O Hell No!"

It's called Mouselook.

And to the OP, some advice.

If in fact, as it appears, this is a brand new publication that has not yet debuted, good luck with getting ads, particularly at the prices you are asking.

When Katt Kongo and I started the M2 in August of 2005, we offered free ads to people we knew in SL for the first several weeks in order to get some ad content out there. If memory serves me correctly, Desmond Shang (Caledon) and Aimee Weber (PREEN) were the first two paid ad clients of the M2 -- I don't recall which one was actually first. Now, four years later, the M2 has a large ad clientele, but it was a long time building that customer base as well as a readership to support it (a quarter million copies downloaded per month, on average).

Don't think you can hang out a shingle and get WHAM! instant financial gratification. Not bloody likely, nosireebob.

You see this is a job for a PR guy..

but hey

you do seem to get into some interesting business
