Wanted: Sculpty hero to make 2 custom objects.

Hi

I want an old style fairground dodgem ('bumper car' in the US) making. I imagine it probably has about 3 parts - the front, the back and sides, and the rubber 'skirt' - the oval around the bottom. (Possibly a steering wheel if you're up for it!). It's actually a specific old dodgem I have in mind from the 1960's - when shapes were simpler and less streamlined. I will supply a photo to you if we agree the work.

The second is far simpler. I am making a 3D monster from a painting. I can get most of the body with normal prims but the head needs to be sculpty. It's shaped rather like a big cat - a puma or a panther - very airodynamic and streamlined head. Again, I will give you a picture if we agree it.

Are these things you could make, and what price please? Also, do you have any examples of anything you've made that I could see a (no permissions) example of please?

Please PM me or contact me via IM in world.

Thank you

Frankie.

P.S.
Some days later. I am amazed at the total lack of replies I have had. No one has come forward, and no one has replied from those supposed sculpty makers who placed their own ads that I responded to. What could be the cause? My only theory is that this is a tiny forum that no one ever reads. It's certainly not the sort of result that makes you want to visit here again. Now that XStreet forums have been killed off by Linden Lag, there really is a hole in the areana for a vibrant forum of some sort.

I've seen the bumper cars you describe in SL already.
A friend of mine has them, though I'm not sure where he got them.

Frankie - I've replied, check your in-box. I'm sorry for the delay - RL headaches were with me for the past couple of weeks. I would really love to make these for you.

You'd be wrong.

Why not 'theorize' that there simply wasn't a lot of interest in your project? Or that people are engaged in their own work and don't have time for yours at the moment? Or even that, god forbid, they have real lives which they'd rather attend to? Going sullen in less than a week because numerous people didn't immediately leap up and say "Oooo, pick me, pick me!" is ridiculous.

@Frankie

This isn't the XStreet forums, nor is it a replacement for it. For sure there are much less people than there are there. XStreet is a forum focused on content creation and business. SLU is a general forum, more social in feel but with threads on content, business, games, SL in general, other worlds, politics, religion, lolcats, food, bacon, trent reznor, etc.

No one bites at a request? I agree with Ann. Other factors you omit are interest and availability. There are lots of requests that come in for various things. Sometimes someone will bite, sometimes no one will. Sometimes a consensus will be reached that what is asked for can't be done or no one has info (like looking for some obscure RL product).

My advice, which holds for every forum and even life in general: Be slow to assume. Consider ALL possibilities, discount none especially if you have no evidence. You are making a request. Do not look upon it as a demand that someone must jump at.

ETA

People will generally be more responsive if you get to know them. Help requests of this type from a newbie to SLU don't elicit large amounts of interest. Help requests dealing with some SL technical issue (like graphics issues) would even if the request is from a newbie. Do get to know people first before launching business-type propositions.
