SL Home Tour - Want to show off your place?

I admit that I am a completely nosy neighbour in SL and real life. I like jogging at night because people have their lights on at home and I can see how they've decorated.

In the spirit of this, I would all like you to add the locations of your spots in SL so that I and everyone else here can go around and snoop. Pictures are great but it's not nearly the same as visiting a place yourself.

Here's mine:
LOCATION: http://slurl.com/secondlife/nailsworth/191/138/24/

LOCATION:http://slurl.com/secondlife/barcola/231/243/34/

Go ahead and add yours if you feel like participating

So Ingrid is a peeping Sally!

I love looking at peoples homes inSL. It used to be one of my favorite things to explore in old SL and one of the best things about mainland.

Hmm, I need to grab some shots of my current place. My first one had one person thinking it was a park and another shocked when he was walking and found himself on a transparent bit with a tree under him.

My next one was almost all transparent walls and hidden underground passages.

Why should architecture in SL be the same as in RL?

To continue with my post about SL architecture this was my 2010 house:

On to my current house though, this is the overview. It is inspired by native american hogans. As you can see I got new neighbours and they decided to terrorform:

Before getting in I will show the second floor a bit. It has a log leading out of it to a place to sit down on a rock outside:

Now the first "floor". Well, not really a floor as I made it use the ground. There is a fire in the middle (with a chimney) and seating areas all around it (including a swing for petites). You can climb up the rock to the right to get to the living area and then there is a log behind it to get to the second floor:

This is the living area. As you can see, sparsely furnished for now. Another fire in the center and the back half is a wood platform with a sleeping bag and a rug:

My graphic card is giving me fits today. I have little spots flashing everywhere on my screen when I log in to SL.

Anyhoo, so no pic for today, but I live in Leda right next to Yadni's Junkyard. Mine is the wooded area.

It's still under construction, but in the next few days I'll have my butterfly gardens put down there. The bit I own across the street will be a cave for my Dwarfins, and I still haven't decided where to put my horses.

Here's an approximate SLurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Leda/40/75/25/

I built a 4th floor walk up for a RP character I have in a 1920's sim because I wasn't interested in playing a slum dweller I liked it so much I've decided to make it home for a while.

I really like the entrance which looks like the 3rd floor.

The 4th floor landing with 3 apartment doors, only one of which opens to my apartment. The other doors say something funny when you knock.

And the interior.. Two rooms, really. And the look out of the window is awesome!

Here's a LM (Asher says he falls to the ground and has to click it agin to land in the hallway)

Feel free, I have my home set to a sky platform anyway so everything is nice and lag-free when I return to the sim.

Everybody's welcome. I'm trying to set it up to be a fun place to explore. Slooooowly but surely

Anyhoo, building is turned on, so have fun!

Oh, and I put out some of my butterflies today. I like using them for shooting practice sometimes.

It's only for looks, It's just 1 prim!

Backstory, The Silverman family has 6 kids and although they're all wild and terribly noisy, their mother wants them to have SOME culture. Her brother is a small time gangster and found one that fell off the back of a truck. Lucky me, they put it in the hallway because their apartment is too small

BTW.. If any knows of an upright piano that plays (and is UBER low prim I only have 10 left of my 234) I'd be interested to know

I think they did it just to annoy Mr. Lipschitz.

BTW, am I remembering things wrong or did you used to be able to set your land to allow non-group members to set home to there? I always did as I could see no reason not too. Since you can login anywhere (assuming no bans are in place) disallowing setting home to your land made about as much sense as setting a ban line to 'protect' your sky platform 1000m up.

I recently posted a couple of pics of my new place (same land, new build) elsewhere, but here's some more. The building is the Tesla Gallery which I've modified a little by expanding the upper floor and adding a third in the roof which is a conservatory. It still looks a little sparse in places as I haven't finished yet; going to build some suitably steampunk random engineering projects, I think.

The door is locked but I'm sure you all know how to get around that.

The Linden houses aren't actually that bad. My daughter had one for a while (though she found it was way to big to properly furnish within a 117 prim limit). I used some of the textures (available free from the welcome area) to build my last house.

I need to use a better variety of textures in my builds. I have plenty between freebies and ones I have bought. I keep getting overwhelmed by what I have then selecting the same ones out of habit.
