Hi

I tried the dazzle viewer for SL

I like it

its basically a more modern interface with XP like buttons and coloured icons, and the inventory is so much easier to read.

The message box has a blue background, easy on sore eyes (often up late when in SL, quiet kids alseep).

it runs faster -i discovered why right at the start

Graphics options, its impossible to tick the boxes for bumped map and cloth.

However you can turn the mesh up, which does not impact o speed and it is actually faster.

Seems reliable -has crashed - but then the other peeps I was conferencing with crashed more that i did, about 2:6 more.

It connects to the same live SL databases, you lose nothing and can go back to the black version - but when I did,it looked so drab that I switched to Dazzle.

Hey sounds neat! I'm going to go tool around the SL website and see if i can find it.

I can tick Bump Mapped & Cloth. Just did. *tick* there, i did it again to be sure.

Maybe your computer specs will not allow it?

ZOMGBBQVOMIT

I do not think i am liking this Dazzle color scheme to well at all. No, I am not like it at all.

The chat box is fugly.

O.k... i have sat here for like 15 minutes looking at it.

I still think the chat box is fugly, but the rest of the interface is acceptable. Why not make it so we can just add our own skins or color the interface ourselves? Imagine the many shades of pink!

My contacts list has not loaded since i installed Dazzle and relogged twice!

Light blue font on dark blue background. That'll take some getting used to. I still hope we will be able to pick the UI colour scheme, but who the hell am I kidding?

Jelly bean buttons must die. I will not be a happy camper if they place it in the main client (or even RC client!) until there is an easy way to alter how it looks. Editing an XML file is not equal (!=) to easy.

i made some negative comments in that thread without having seen it, so it's probably time i poked around in it. i still think the changes are cosmetic when it needs deeper UI work, but they could potentially still be good.
