My Mood:  SL Join Date: 2004/2005 Client: c0ff33   | Alphavile Herald is butt hurt So I went to check out the sandvich sim on a 1 day old alt. It was full of griefer items and pn stuff. It was also full of a lot of perma-banned woodbury residents (admittedly some of who are my friends). However the herald in their latest article is acting like the lab did some horrible wrong doing because they removed a sim that was knowingly housing griefers and was there to pretty much damage second life. Linden Lab Nukes Sandvich Sim | The Alphaville Herald In before any woodbury people show up and claim they didn't know, because I will be more than happy to post pictures. Seems to be like the herald is a little butt hurt that their friends lost their sim for breaking the rules.

So I speculate here that SL's expansion into Steam has attracted their attention, being an intersection between heretofore unlinked virtual communities. Add to that discussion of SL on reddit, ANOTHER previously unlinked group, and I suppose we have the makings for another pile of pseudo-academic verbiage "analyzing" inworld events perpetrated by the authors as if they occurred spontaneously. I can see it now -- "Culture chasms rend virtual communities"! LL's booting of the sim (probably for simple content theft), will apparently be cast as some Linden attempt to palliate this or that resident group. If this is actually what's happening, I sure hope that whatever RL publisher pays for the verbiage is into fiction! | ||

Business: Isambard Kingdom Brunel Hall Client: Viewer 3 & Firestorm | The Alpha is like Hamlets blog on steroids, amphetamines, coffee and a half bottle of Vodka. Hamlet the Has Been's blog tries to make it look like he's supporting LL but if ya keep reading the old Has Been starts to become more and more bitter in his blog posts... The Alpha...just doesn't give a shit, they post whatever they want which is what old Has Been should do instead of trying to act clever...god now im starting to sound bitter >.< *stops reading Hamlets blog and goes off to watch a Torley video*
