Unhappy Someone stopping me from taking my stuff

I have a few of my breedable horses on an ex friends land, we had an arrangement for so so amount of L for the space/prims. Today we fought and they banned me from their parcel. I cammed around and noticed most of my horses and their food was gone. Some wheren't, so I grabbed them. he says he wont return them and he has them someplace I can't find. I reported him for it. Do you think he'll have to return them? Whats your take on this?

Are they Amaretto horses? If those missing horses are still rezzed out in your name, just file a ticket for "Missing horse." If you want that as a last resort, then just ask a buddy to come with you and look for them under Area search... Look for them in possible sky platforms too.

If the horses are rezzed under the ex-friend's name, you're screwed. LL aren't going to get involved in resident disputes such as this one too and most breedable companies can't help in these situations either.

I'd just use an alt. Go on when he isn't online.. Look for the objects.. and then come back on the main and cam in and grab them.

One better: Give the alt permissions to your stuff and send the alt in to take them.

Also to the OP, something doesn't compute there. If they don't have permissions to handle your prims they can't really move them other than to send them back to your lost and found. (Unless the horses themselves have some utility to move them around.) Check your lost and found folder.

If you give alt perms, then they can. And then they own it and then can give it back. I know this from working on building a sim with others.

Make an alt, give the alt your mod rights, entire sim and return your horses. Just a matter of finding them.

Edit: Aribeth beat me.

Something about this doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not caffeinated enough to figure it out.

I had ABC Breedable Horses when I got locked out of my main account. My alt, who had mod perms on my stuff, could only move them around and make sure they had food. She couldn't pick them up to move them, just slide 'em around. The only way she could become the owner would have been if I'd set them for sale before I got locked out.

Maybe that's somehow scripted into the horses then - normally, you can pick up stuff you have mod rights to.

Wait - I think if something is not copy [or maybe its trans] that you can't pick it up. I'm not positive, but if I get a chance to test I will.

For the record if you have someone's mod rights, you can return their stuff. You can't *take* it, but you can return it. Scripts can't block that.

Be sure you are checking all the sub-pie menus, either "return" or some viewers simply call it "delete", both will work. Your alt will not (cannot) delete your main's horse, it will be returned to the main's lost and found instead.

Ah I was banned and i couldn't see them even tho I cammed in. In the end he gave up and let me back on sim, now I have them. Thanks, i'll remember this next time I need a place to put 6 horses and have a friend with space. >.> friends aren't always friends. but thanks for the concern and sorry for the stupidity.

I've just tested with an alt and for some reason, you can no longer take a no copy/transfer object, even if you have the person's mod rights.

I do remember being able to do that in the past at some point though.

I'm only running with a vague memory here, but my mental wayback machine recalls takjng any kind of prims. (Except no trans.) But yeah, experimented last night and it's definitely not the case now.

I wouldn't be surprised. My memory hits a singularity in May 2007, there is nothing before it.

You could take full perm [to them] stuff ie, stuff they made, because when we were working on the sim build, I'd have stuff picked up, and when it was returned, it would have trans only perms.... Was frustrating to have to go and fix it.

I always find that expression curious. When is 'back in the day'? It always seems to vary as well. For some uses of it you can petty much figure out about when they mean. For others though I doubt even the person saying it knows. Like 'this was used to clean horse's hooves back in the day'.

I think 'back in the day' is the same as 'Sometime in the past' just of a different colloquialism, but I'm not sure anymore.

Back in my day on the other hand seems to refer to sometime in personal pass, as if they aren't still in their day.... O.o
