Dunno this store, but I do know DV8 is closing, mostly due to burnout.

Sad news. I own a number of Ivalde's outfits and LOVE them.

Your title gave me a heart attack, Brenda. I'll miss their store but at least I can buy their stuff through the MP.

They ought to turn MP into a directory - people can look and see who has what sorts of products, and then teleport to the proper stores.

This is a top idea, and many of us already shop this way. I use MP to do a lot of finding, and comparing, then let my leggies do the walking into the inworld stores to make the final purchase.

From the customer's point of view, the MP is an excellent tool.

Sacrifices sometimes have to be made.

Actually, unless I need something right then, I much prefer to shop in world.

most customers prefer shopping on the marketplace. What this does is free up land for interesting builds people actually use instead of the disaster of mainland that is cheapass shoddy stores. Now we can have the bulk on SLM and only the popular and new items in small custom stores.

I'm a "half n half" customer. I'll buy clothes on Marketplace, although certain things I'll only buy if I can get a demo, but stuff like a house or furniture, I have to see it in world.

Except with as expensive as things are, fewer people are willing to foot the bill for interesting builds.

Unless its something really cheap that is all I use it for. Once I find what I'm looking for I start looking for the link to see it inworld. If there is no link then I usually move on. Although I have sometimes used the MP to purchase something as a gift after I looked at it in world.

But overall, marketplace is not the ideal solution to keeping businesses in world. And that's the main way they keep having people spend money on tier [outside of estates, but that's just tier through a third party].

Still depressing.

This is the notecard that went out to the group

Quote:
1st June -2012

To my loyal costumers and friend

After alot of thinking I have desided to take longer break from Secondlife.
When I started work in january I belived it would be easy to combine my new job at the library ,and an active family life with secondlife.
But its been more difficult that I imagined.
And there have been other issues that also been taking away my interest of be in sl.
First my computer got desroyed and gone bad,and that ony few months after I had a big upgrade on it.I havent been able to fix my computer yet,and its really hard to be in sl with a computer that dont cooperate.
Brumm lost interest in sl....its been affecting me too.
It dont feel the same of Sl when my dear husband isent around like before.

There is no drama around me leaving for awhile,I just dont have the time or energy to run Ivalde as I wants to now that I have a RL work .
Also the summer vacation is just around the corner ,and my kids will be home everyday. I never felt I could be on SL when they needs me,and we could do fun stuff together.
My kids always have been my first priority.
So with summervacation comming I know there will be no time for sl on me.

My work at the library is finished in january 2013,so maybe I will return for full then,
I dont know yet .
I desided to cut down all expences I have in here and Ivalde will only be avalible in markedplace for now.
I will let Ivalde sim go,so there will be no more Ivalde sim. That because I expect my income in here to be very low now as there will be no regular releases.
If I get time to make some newm outfits in the close future,I will put it for sale at the markedplace.I still love to make dresses, and I still love Fashion history, and I study Fashion history as much as I can and will never stop doing that. Its my biggest passion!
(Good thing that I works on a library )

I am not doing this with a light heart, its not easy to do this, but I do see that SL have been my lowest priority after I started to work in RL.

Remember, I am not quitting or leaving sl forever,I am just takes a longer break.
And if I am able to design ,it will be released on markedplace. The webpage will also be up and running. And the Ivalde group will still be around,so there is no reason to leave.

I wants to thank you all for supporting me for so many years.
♥ Without you I would be nothing in here♥

I wish everybody a good summer.
With all my love,Neferia Abel♥

To be honest, I kind of do that, and then the opposite at the same time.

Often I'll find something on MP, then (Particuarly if it's expensive) visit the store to take a look around, see what the makers other stuff is like, see if there are any demo's etc. But then once I've decided to buy it, I'll actualy do it on the marketplace. That way I can leave a review, and I have a record of what I've bought in the 'order history' section.

The latter is pretty handy if, for example, I'm writing up a blog post while on my lunch break at work, and I want to look up details for credits.

I think I must be utterly batshit insane because I distinctly recall Market Place got started as in game company called SLXpress that became so popular LL was forced to buy it from them.
