Jenn, was that a note actually sent to you? Or was it just in the box?

In the box is sort of understandable as a thank you, not the rating bribe though. Do they still give the gift for a crap review? I hope so

But sent to you, that is really harassment.

Was sent to me today. it was already prominant when i went to buy it so didnt need a reminder. I told them to stop spamming me and they said but you get a free wingback chair...lol....like I couldnt read that the first time.

Im sad, I like their homes but this is the last one for me. Im glad places like abiss are back to making and wish prefabulous would start again (the later has superb customer support).

perhaps i will give a crap review and see if i get the gift but i hate doing that kind of game as i like my ratings to be honest and the prefab is well made.

Anyways im now an ex customer.

come on builders....shopoholics like me need new lovely meshy builds...i go through homes like shoes! Ask my partner, she knows never to put out too much and invested in a removals van.

You could always leave a review explaining that the product is well made, but that the spam is an issue and will prevent you from purchasing again. That seems fair and still honest. Perhaps they will change their methods on this which if they hear it often enough. As has been mentioned a few times in this thread, some merchants don't know how much customers hate this, as many just delete or mute without telling them.

I have one hippo subscriber and it only adds the avatar to the group if they click to subscribe on the board or they click again on the board to unsubscribe.

I have never ever autosubscribed someone in our customer group, although there is an option in the hippo vendor to do so when they buy from a vendor.

I normally send 3 notices a week and I always fear people will complain. Every month I send a reminder to the group suggesting them that if they don't feel comfortable in the group, they can either contact me to be manually removed or teleport to click on the board and unsubscribe. So far only 2 people have imed me asking me to be removed in more than a year; which I did.

However, I always have the feeling that these things can be upsetting although if done right, they help in sales. I don't want to upset or bother possible customers, I only want people interested in our products to be in the list. However, I also have the feeling that some people will just mute the item or me because it is easier, instead of contacting me. Nothing else I can do I guess.

Might I ask what the three notices are about? Are they time sensitive and can't be grouped together for once a week?

If I were a member receiving three notices a week I would mute, or just autodelete without reading. When it becomes too much I just tend to gloss over. Much like TV commericials or any advertising, if I see it every half an hour, I just tune out completely. Only new or different or rare catches my eye.

I will say the build I bought from them recently is very well done. The texture work especially impressed me. That said, I still won't buy anything from them again because I really hate being added onto lists without opting in.

Amigo - I have a few of your things on one of my alts and will buy again - but I'm not on your list and don't need to be. Thank you for making it opt-in, I like your stuff.

I personally like to log in to some new stuff from the shops that I subscribed to. I have no issues with this as long as its not more than once per day but everyones limits are different so its a careful balancing act. Once i start ignoring a certain shop, i simply unsubscribe.

Once a week would be fine though as I subscribe as a reminder that i liked that shop and would like to know when its time to go an check the new shinies.

i have no problem at all with groups or hippo places i clicked to be hit up for things that are new..

i want those..and i do check them out..
like truth..she always sends a note card of her last release incase i missed the last one and on the same card has more pics of her newest ones..

i just minimize them until i can get up to my house and get all compfy on my couch to look at those..because chances are i'll be looking on the market or planning a trip to the inworld stores..

i love getting images from the ones i join up of their new stuff..
if there is something i like..it will only be a matter of minutes most times that i either head to the store or market..
Truth hair..it's usually only a matter of seconds LOL

That's why I AR. I figure making -them- spend time correcting the problem is a far better use of -my- time.

and I've got little problem with that type of message... heck I don't even mind a single "would you like to leave a review" message... in fact I like those because I never review anything straight away... I wait until I've used it a bit and I can forget...

bribes, mutiple messages, continous spam.... anybody that does me like that gets slammed... Mute, AR, and word of mouth not to go there.

The thank you should be in the box. Not sent separately.

so! for those of you on the reBourne list, or any list, that don't want to be.. i do empathise with that part. Whether its getting spammed every day or once a month, if its unwanted spam, i can see how its annoying.
And here I thought that subscribos were "opt in" services. Boy, am I naive. I treat my business' subscribo as I do my RL business' newsletter -- you want notices, subscribe and if you don't, don't.

Now this would explain why I sometimes receive "spam" from creators that I have no idea why I should be receiving such.

I feel so educated now. LOL
