SL9B

OK I am cursed with attempting to make this happen. But it is happening regardless of evil spells against it.

Am I right in guessing that LL must be donating the sims since they are rated general? They tend to like to do that.

No Sims from Linden Lab

No, Linden Lab have not donated any sims.

It's been decided that the core will be G rated so that everyone can attend. However, there could be adult birthday celebrations that the core would link to. And everyone can offer landmarks on their plots.

In some ways, with just over a month to go, this is going to be a beta - first time with no Lab involvement.

I'm sorry, but these events have lovely art pieces and few people in them, typically. The blame is that they have too many sims, so finding anything is impossible.

Also, so much lag and a few ugly clubs.

I disagree. There are events and the events are usually full of people.

However the event organizers could do well to minimize sculpts, glow, and tortured prims.

Ive never had a problem at any SLB event...even during the live shows etc...and Ive never had a mission to find one thing...I tend to explore and see what I come across, more fun that way.

I had a lot of fun at SL8B and actually saw @rodvik (and also the indefatigable Daniel Voyager). I never went to one before SL7B and wish that I had.

I was at 8 at least a little, and wish I'd been to more, but not sure I want to try and do stuff with 9 just because....

Oh, I am not looking for adult rated stuff. I was mostly wondering why the linden lead of making event sims general instead of moderate was followed since that had been a point of debate in the past. I simply forgot the teen grid merge and their sim restrictions if they say they are underage.

Hmmm Hmmm Hmmmm

I think I may considering volunteering, and perhaps can wrangle a few people into putting something together.

The rating might be tricky though, we'll see.

I saw this yesterday on the group chat, and I'm glad it's happening. I hope LL at least will help with promoting it.

Best Drama Summary
I've been saying for years that there ought to be a Resident-run birthday effort with no LL involvement, and was very disappointed when the last attempt at such a thing fizzled out... so clearly my church is going to have to get in on this. I just need to figure out what sort of exhibit we can muster.

I wish this weren't confined to G-rated sims, but it's a defensible decision, and I'm disinclined to pick on those who are stepping up at the last minute to make this happen. (If it works out, I hope we can expand our horizons next year.)

If someone invites me to a SL9B party, I'll bring my copy of the 2003 Second Life Time Capsule and give copies to anyone who wants one.

I had great fun when I DJd at SL8B. I may have to poke my nose into the sims at SL9B and see what's shaking.

I got a notecard about the event. When I'm a bit more lucid and/or awake I'll take a look at it and figure out whether or not I have time or energy to participate as a DJ or something.

Daniel Voyager is just a myth! There is no Daniel Voyager. His real name is Tyler Durden.

I think I've got a notecard waiting on me too - I just was too busy in rl to log on yet to see. I'll take a peek once I log on this morning and try to make a decision.
