I stopped putting in the long hours in sl a ways back but then I met somebody and we went into real-estate rentals and had fun doing that for a while and made a nice shopping village for people to rent, but then two months ago I started to see a drop off and you looked on mainland you started to see the increase of yellows ( for sale or abandoned) and groups that where renting from us started to decline, now today we have a few good renters still with us but we dumped a lot of the land right now, and if look on the map and toss a prim most probably it is going to land on abandon land.

You’re not alone, many people where feeling the SL fatigue, then something changes and you get into something new and bang you back into it, but take care of you health and mental health, go out and do something fun in the real world sl will always be around for you.

For me I found the pirate and navy battles and sailing and having a blast participating but now that spring is here on my end, I am getting out there to fix up the lawn and getting the garden ready, but it has been difficult, just getting over pneumonia, so working at a slow pace but wow it is nice to get outside and planning to do a lot more activities this summer.
What your describing everybody goes through that and in different ways, but it is all good, just don’t get addicted to facebook, then you have a real problem.

I think its natural to loose interest in something that you've sunk a lot of time into, or have done for multiple years. I agree with the comment about SL being a time suck. Its difficult to get much out of it, if you only log in for a few minutes, more time is almost required. If your not getting a lot out of SL currently, and thinking about it in past tense terms, I say let it be, and use your skills/talents/abilities toward the things that currently energize and excite you.

I've not lost interest in SL for a minute during the last 3 years.
Perhaps because I've been too busy (building my dream city, managing a rp community, etc), or because to me SL is the only time off I have in RL.
I own a company in RL and am very busy but I don't have a tv so in the evenings I love going into SL to have some entertainment.
Or maybe I just have too much imagination, 3 years of hell and glory building this sim has not put me off, my list of future sims I want to build has only grown.
There are 398432475 ideas for sims on that list
I just love building, there are so many things I still want to build.
Must be my Lego addiction all over again.

No far from being bored with it and I don't even go shopping, clubbing or hanky-pankying.
Just being in my little historical neighbourhood is keepin me happy.

IF, IF I did get bored, I'd probably do something I had not tried before, like exploring some other sims.
But yes, if I had not found something that appealed to me, I would have left long time ago.

But even if I stopped liking everything about SL, I'd still enjoy building.
Because you can build whatever you like and there just is sooooo much I'd like to build.

When I don't SL, I work or spend time in the past, as I am a time traveler in RL too.

PS: another thing I recently did was get a new computer.
SL suddenly looks completely different, I can see lights and shadows!
All new to me.
So now I'm interested in making nice snapshots too, put a bit more effort into making photos look nice.

I'm spending the money on a good sized harp. That's my answer, get a harp, play!
Can we see a picture of the harp? Is it a nice one?

My loss of interest in SL is different to most I guess. My theatres cabarets are a stage based sanbox. The gang (about 40-50 of us) make a bunch of short acts, comedy, dance, machinima, plays, whatever and we throw them together each week to make 30 minutes worth of entertainment. Half the time we end up just performing to each other and having a laugh. The plot and overheads are so small finances dont come into it.

I am currently however in the grips of having a lot on in RL. Coming to the end of a Distance Learning course, work full time, lost my motorbike so my 1 hour a day travelling is currently 3-4 hours a day travelling (which has a MASSIVE impact on the handful of hours left on my day), and on top of that, I generally have a lot of stuff I want to get started on in RL but dont have the time and I am shatterd and too tired to do anything all the time when i do have spare time. *BREEEEEEEEEEATHS!*

Lost my full stop button there....

So yesh, I am rather loosing pace in SL at the moment, but I am happy to say, once I get the motorbike back on the road, I will be loosing slowing down my SL because I have lots of good stuff to do RL, and not because I am bored with SL.

Also! Too all those that feel SL lost its creative feel!

Come find me, you will get 5 minutes and 10 free prims to show off your skills.

And I ran back as fast as possible to Second Life.
This pretty much sums up my virtual life. I take a lot of new-shiny-mmorpg-breaks from SL, during which I still log on to check IMs, occasionally shop something new and shiny and take pictures, then get back to gaming. Eventually I grow bored (how fast depends on if I got into a rp-guild or not, a good guild definitely keeps me in a game as long as the guild stays) and slink back to SL to shop more and take more pictures.

SL is the best character creation tool ever. Whenever I'm playing rpgs I mourn and wail and miss all the options. Whenever I take screenies of my characters in games I twitch for the lack of camera controls and windlights and poses and and and where are all the pretty clothes and what do you mean I can't change my hairdo and and... /log back to SL, make the game-character with SL options, take pictures, feel better~

Sometimes I grow weary of whatever I'm doing in SL even without a new-shiny-mmorpg in the horizon (le gasp). I dig up my old favourite single-player-rpgs and city-building-strategy-games then, or catch up on reading. It's not any sort of big disaster if I feel loss of interest toward SL, nor a big deal when I again feel the love. It happens. Breaks are a good thing.

I took a year off from it when I lost interest.

Course, I rarely do much of consequence in it anyway so i'm not sure anyone noticed.

Like many others here, I reduced, or had reduced, my available in-world time a while back. This has kinda made my short, sporadic visits seem that much more valuable.

I don't build, script or create, been merely a tourist since 07 when I had specced the desktop unit that would let me log all four avatars at once. Now of course, I break all too easily with just two but that's progress innit

I still kinda thrill at different things for the different avies, they just develop their own characters - yep, I need help. Bilbo, the half-home owner, general tourist and most true-to-my-life happy wanderer and partner to Morgaine (whom some of you might know, we're RL but met through the Starship Titanic help site.

Emma, the other half-home owner, loves helping newbies and can get into places that will turn bilbo away at the door. Friendly, well-behaved but a shopaholic.

Lorna the sultry, hard-to-get, presently redhead can be seen traversing the more seedy troublespots but can take care of herself.

Inigo though she's hung up her roller skates, still the bubbly whirling dervish. Seems Hillcrest had a total rebuild since she set fire to the Science block a couple of semesters back.

So they all through their characters, have different areas of interest throughout the grid. If I'm on long enough to get bored, I'll just change avie and head in a different 'direction'.
