Wales is OK
| Damn. I've been Hall of Shamed The Fashion for Life 2012 Blogger Hall of Shame | Associated SL Press Arse. This is what comes of not reading the group notices. I was like, wait, is it over? And there go my blog posts and my good reputation (any reputation actually). Epic fail on my part. |

socially unacceptable.
| Whether you feel you deserved this or not, IMO that entire post is in colossally bad taste, and does nothing good for the image of FFL. |

Business: B5IV Roleplay Client: Firestorm | Just to clarify: That kind of "writing" is considered "Best of SL" and worthy as an example of being showcasted as part of "Associated SL Press"? Seriously? And actually... if the associated event and group approve of such tactics, it'll be one more reason for me to stay away from any kind of charity in SL and to finally stop spending money on such events. Geesh. Either there's a shady pseudo-organizer who runs off with the money or some staff member goes ego-tripping and ruins a formerly completely posive impression of an event. Brilliant tactic to ruin one's own reputation. Last edited by Lil Hapmouche; 03-23-2012 at 06:21 AM. |

| I don´t even...do they think that from being a charity excuses them from good manners, this is totally wrong, I could see them thanking the bloggers who did cover it more extensivly but wall of shame?

always in need of coffee
| I read this and in all honesty, had some major flashbacks. Recently a manager for a skin review group had sent out notice that unless links were provided, people were getting booted from the group. Needless to say, I left the group on my own after being a bit of a bitch to said manager. Considering how much I did blog and SYS this group...I figured they could go to hell. Sad part is that I liked the creator...but when a person signs up to do this stuff.....shit happens and they can't always get every review or even complete the task. This was a charity event. With a numerous amount of people blogging the designers and the event itself. People blogged that bought items, people blogged that got review items. And they did it willingly and when their time permitted. I think the FFL people need to get over themselves and realize that they just shamed and possibly harmed many other events in the future....especially anything with their particular name on it. And the comments and the condescending tone used? Fuck that. (yeah it realllllyyy pisses me off to see stuff like that is purposely done to make people feel like crap....over the line and completely 100% uncalled for by ANY event organizer.) |

And already it's been shown that some of the names were listed in error, damaging the reputations of innocent people as well as the event itself. If someone does an unsatisfactory job in that capacity, you redline their name on your spreadsheet, and simply explain next time, privately, I might add, why you are choosing not to include them. At the same time, a post could be made highlighting the better bloggers, thereby boosting their reputations for future events. No public drama needed in any way. | |

It cost a lot of L$ to look
this cheap
| Yeah, it's an unprofessional thing of them to do (not that most in SL are professionals at this in RL anyway). If they took such issue with bloggers not blogging stuff they've been given for the event, they could have simply made note to themselves to not give those bloggers items next year. | I see a number of apologies are having to be handed out over there. The correct and mature way to handle the situation would have been for them to contact the bloggers in question and query as to the status of the expected articles. If an unsatisfactory response is received then thank them and don't invite them back to blog. All done privately with no fallout. IMHO |

Wales is OK
| It was a mean-spirited post and it left a nasty taste in the mouth, but I did fail to post and sometimes people do need to be called on this sort of thing. I don't think Harper Beresford even knew that this post was happening. I NCed her with an apology anyways. |

| Now with less padding ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Horrible post. I write for Shopping Cart Disco, I know stuff about horrible posts. Also, Associated SL Press? Who associated them? What are their credentials? Is there a selection process for becoming "SL Press"? Isn't journalism required for that heady title? |

| Honestly i don´t feel like apply as a blogger to any of their events, god forbit RL was a priority and i would be put on a wall like that, or didn´t meet whatever standards they hold their bloggers, i´m sure they´ll find loads willing to help next time. |

| No, actually they don't Sian...and if they felt it was absolutely necessary to ask...then it should have been done in private. Your a better person then me, after that blog post.....no way in hell I would have been apologizing no matter the reason for my not being able to blog the items I received if I had signed up for it (I didn't). For the amount of bloggers that received the reviews and the amount that actually reviewed coupled with the amount of people who bought and reviewed that blogged.....they were NOT hurting for bloggers. AND! they had a very small portion of people that did not blog and some of those were even wrong to begin with. I would say their review group was a success considering the numbers that did blog versus who actually didn't and they can shove it for making people feel like crap publicly. |

Business: B5IV Roleplay Client: Firestorm | That's the greatest shame of such stunts, that the foolish and careless drag everyone down to the dirt. ![]() Either as one bad charity example ruining the overall willingness to spend or a bad blogger casting a bad light upon the whole blog staff. Sorry, meant to say "press", of course. Anyway... at least there's a nice list of blogs to start reading now. |

| Hopefully I think most people will see this for what it is ... just a bonehead doing their normal boneheaded stuff ... and ignore it. And I expect to see some juicy "Damage Control" articles generated shortly.

My Mood: | I am not a creator.. I am a consumer only. I spend on average L5k a week on purchasing items I like, going to events, donations. I have now bookmarked that Best of SL site, and pretty much anything they promote from now on I will avoid. If a creator I really like is involved, I will go out of my way to purchase the items I like from them outside of whatever event is going on/being promoted by the snarkiest of SL. |
